tell me about it. as soon as he won this site flipped, they're going to start losing folks soon.
We got it prez, now go get some shut eye!
This man is so inspiring, we are fortunate to have him as our president at this time. And you get the sense that he believes what he says.
Oh baloney...
However, I'm pleased with his cabinet appointments for the most part, and I don't think he's a disaster.
That's good enough.
I personally feel sorry for those of you with such high expectations.
He's pretty mediocre to me.
See Ann's comment above. She plans to watch reruns instead of participating. Hey, is this PumaAnn? It would make sense.
Ann, perhaps you could get off your couch and help us all fix this country that you and your fellow uninspired Americans have helped destroy????
Way to pass judgment before he has even been sworn in. Perhaps you could give out the winning lotto numbers as well since you so clearly can divine the future.
It does not matter that you are not inspired. What matters is that about 70-80% of the people think positively about how he is preparing to lead. What matters is that instead of playing on fear and division (of which there is no short supply these days) he is appealing to unity and hope. What matters is that he has inspired millions who are now willing to tough it out in DC just to be a part of it all.
I personally feel sorry for someone with no sense of the historic nature of his election. Your pretty mediocre to me.
AnnfromCA,
You are very much in the minority ..........
A rising tide raises all ships ..........
Obama's inspiration goes way beyond politics ..........
Inspiration is often a two way street.
Since you have nothing to offer, it is no wonder you are uninspired.
Do we need this inauguration ceremony which is really a display of reach celebrities? do we need all that money spent on food, balls, tick
.Are we crowning a king?
i expected a very simple ceremony, lasting a couple of hours, according to the bad times, and economic distress we are suffering , no balls, dinners or fancies, adding more debt to our pockets.
Something we could call Lincoln's style, and not a ceremony looking the crowning of a roman emperor.
Also bailing the banks again? they are discussing it now, There is opposition
And we see that the banks at this very moment ( oh coincidence! ) are again showing signs of distress and crying for the rest of the money. What they got before didn't help them? well reality is that didn't help us either, more unemployment, more misery for the working people. Everything sounds as a charade.
On top we are giving control of the Treasure to someone who had the nerve to present himself as an expert in taxes and economy but didn't know he was supossed to pay taxes?
And so cheap that he hired an "ilegal alien" so he can save money and pay a low wage.
Well I feel that we are really naive and stupid and I am afraid we voted the wrong person.
"We" are not paying for any of the Inauguration. Money was raised ahead of time by people on a special committee.
I believe that it has been discussed that Obama will find a way to use that second half of the bailout to help people more directly, such as mortgage relief in some way for those in foreclosure.
As to your criticism of the Treasury guy, I think you have some of your facts wrong there too.
I would love to be there at the same time the crowds will be overwhelming for me. So my choice is to take my daughter and other friends to an Obama watch celebration while having lunch at a nice resturant with others.
I love this new president! We as a country have been blessed and now it is up
to us to get involved locally to effect change that resonates nationally.
Obama is leading by example and it is incredibly refreshing and inspiring.
Best seat in the house is always at home...as much as I'd love to see history in person, sometimes it's just better to stay home!
Huffpo,
You're crossing the line into ridiculous on the heading these days.
That was beautiful. How can you not react positively to that? The message of being involved, in helping in your community is always a good message. It seems even more important now.
Thank you Barack Obama for keeping this promise of inclusion and involvement, for communicating to the people in an inspirational way.
We are haveing a baby supply collection for the poor and non-rofit organizations. Babies are still born in recession and the parents can''t afford to feed, let alone clothe their children. It is time to pick up our historical cross of burden and make it right for the future.
Then and only then can we rejoice in God's name for doing the deeds His words have carried throughout the centuries.
CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME. GO AMERICA!!
It is gonna feel good to do good, after so much bad.
I'll have a front row seat at home.
I'll be at work. At least I still have a job, for now.
Don't have to tell me twice. I'm looking forward to the Obama presidency, but I don't plan on being stuffed into DC with millions of others for the inauguration.
I'm with you, I will watch on television because it will be crazy on that day. They are already telling folks that you won't be able to get around in your cars. The buses will probably be parked so far way that you will have to walk miles to get to the inauguration and it will be freezing cold next week. It's 8 degrees right now in Syracuse and it's suppose to be colder next week. I can already see the awful threads that will be on the net about the people complaining who did go. But I will be the first to say, Obama team told you to stay home, don't bring your babies and small children out in the cold, you did so don't complain.
