Obama's call to service is most welcome, but it must be strengthened by a program as imaginative and compelling as was the Peace Corps. People are clearly eager and impatient for the change promised by the new president. The time is right. Now please lead us.

We have such a program, despite Repugs efforts to dismantle it -- it's called AmeriCorps. Of course, I hate the military analogy of both PeaceCorps and AmeriCorps.
