I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Kevin Bacon needs a job.

Last month New York Magazine revealed Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick were two of Bernie Madoff's victims, and may have lost everything they had but their real estate and checking accounts.

Bacon spoke to Life & Style Magazine about it at a Television Critics Association event:

"We'll march on. We have to. There¹s nothing you can do about it. You can't change what happened. Things could be worse. You remember that, and you go on with your life.

But Kevin was shocked by the news of Madoff's scam. "I didn¹t see it coming," he said.

Asked by Life & Style what he's currently working on, Kevin replied: "I don't have anything lined up right now, but I need to work, for obvious reasons."

Bacon is currently appearing in "Frost/Nixon" while his wife stars on TNT's "The Closer."

The Bacon's are a nice Hollywood family. I think the more that speak out as to their plights with Madoff the more that will see and appreciate a lot of people were scammed. There is no such thing as a free lunch folks and even today, people are buying into bad mortgages.

Yup another big fish got caught by Madoff, who made away with the same amount that ENRON raked out of California in ONE YEAR, 60 billion for energy costs from everyone... WHERE WAS THE MSM ON THAT ISSUE... READ FREE LUNCH, these con artists on Wall Street are so used to the getting away with everything...

Exactly. That Enron enerygy cost BS barely got a mention. But then, the Repug CONnected got their fortunes and their gov'ner to boot... all went according to plan.

The River Wild 2, come back to life and go down the river again with Meryl Streep. Good movie. They will do fine, they are both talented actors and will regain their losses not like the rest of us.

I doubt he made the investment himself - just okay'd the financial advice. Kevin is fortunate - he's a reliable working actor and he'll make up the losses in a year or so. Hard but not life threatening. Some people, affected by this swindle, like people who relied on or worked for charities tied up in it, will lose a lot more.

Hey Kevin. Your greed got ahead of that old saying. If the deal seems too good to be true.......... It is.

Asked by Life & Style what he's currently working on, Kevin replied: "I'm working on getting the ten bucks back that I shelled out at Fantastic Sam's for this national disaster of a haircut, that's what I"m working on!"

Good for Kevin, he has a good attitude. If we could all be so optimistic.

Maybe they should use their star power to do some PSA's about investments that "sound too good to be true", and "ethical practices for investing".

This actually sounds like a really good idea!
There are more Madoff's coming out of the woodwork every day.
Maybe a notable couple such as these two could help keep others from becoming victimized by doing exactly as you say.

maybe an interview on 60 minutes?
i would think that to be that candid and personal
when they have always maintained a quieter profile in the public,
could possibly might end up being victimized/exploited over this terrible circumstance
(which is not what these two deserve). he has actually given the public more than
enough info on their business dealings with that crook madoff.
how about more of these paparatzzi-seeking millionaires that have lost
millions? with 50bil at stake, there are way more out there that lost their
life savings too...

With all due respect, these two fine actors will come out of this economic panic better than most, I think.

Why not? Certainly one of my favorite tongue-in-cheek sci-fi movie series - and the one Kevin was in was the best!

Good grief. Kevin Bacon is a pretty good actor. He's made some bad choices for film roles but was memorable in Animall House, Diner, and Apollo 13 to name a few. I'm sorry that he was swindled and figure his talent will keep him busy. He trusted someone who offered him an offer that was too good to be true and too good to pass up. Kevin Bacon will be okay and has a life lesson to share. I am more concerned about the retirees who emptied their life savings into Madoff's scam. They too were blinded by greed and Madoff spotted the marks. It was probably easy for him to gain their trust. After all, he'd been on TV.

When he had a vision to DIG, he should have realized they were talking about his accountant.
