Sharon Osbourne Wins Libel Damages Againt UK Paper

LONDON — A tabloid newspaper has apologized to Sharon Osbourne for a story that falsely accused her of overworking her rock star husband Ozzy.

The Sun agreed to pay undisclosed damages and Osbourne's legal costs.

Osbourne took the paper to Britain's High Court over an October 2007 story that claimed she was "driving her frail husband Ozzy Osbourne to destruction."

Her lawyer, John Kelly, said the unfounded allegations were "extremely distressing, hurtful and damaging."

The Sun's lawyer, Patrick Callaghan, said the newspaper sincerely apologized and accepted that the claims were untrue.

The Osborne's are a fascinating couple. Everything they touch turns to gold. I've enjoyed them both immensly over the years. They're nonconformists and just interesting people that add to the spice of life.

Black Sabbath is the band that drove a stake thru the heart of the hippies.

From Strawberry Alarm Clock to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Very good trade.

NONE of the hippie bands are left, and NONE have sold even a fraction of the number of ablums sabbath sold.

Except it was surfer hippies like me and my friends back in the day who were listening to Black Sabbath while smoking baggyfuls of pot. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Hippie Neil Young is still going strong (and has probably outsold Sabbath), and CSN, Joni MItchell, the Jefferson Airplane/Starship, Yes, the Moody Blues and the Grateful Dead continued to sell large amounts of records and concert tickets into the late 1980's while the Doors had a big revival in the 1980's as well.

Hippie Sonny Bono was elected to the House of Representatives as a REPUBLICAN.

Please, get a clue.

the hippies all sold out. We are going to change the world. all the hippies did was give ammo to the Richard Nixon types.

The idea of the counterculture was a good one, unfortunately there were people like Leary and that doofus clown Wavy Gravy. That is why pot is illegal right now.

Hippies in their type dyed shirts think that they are cool, maybe were cool back 40 years ago, but now it is nothing more than bad publicity. One band that started in that era that I like is Floyd.

Hippies might as well have worked for the Right wing media and politicians, they played right into their prejudice.

I like Neil Young. Jefferson Airplane/Starship/Whatever, the Doors and the Dead are not my cup of tea, but not everyting has to be.

The opening parts of Iron Man and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath are instantly recognizable, the only dead song i can recognize has the line Living on Reds ...

I just wish the hippies would stop reminiscing about the good ole days and actually follow thru with all the changes to the world that they were going to make.

I still smoke baggies of pot to this day, whether listening to Sabbath or nothing at all. I am pretty sure the smoke is a bit better now... Did you all even know that the buds were the bet part to smoke back then?

Well, I don't know about she is who she is. I know she is a mother of a young woman, having a TV show with girls promoting sluttish behaviour just for the sake of making money. As a mother of a teen I do look at what is out there in TV land, because I do not want my teen to be exposed to all of the garbage. I saw her show and asked myself why would a woman at that age and expected maturity level expose herself like that. What kind of message is that for our young women out there.
I don't know, maybe I am from a different planet, but I enjoyed MTV when it still was just that, Music Television, and now there is one cheap trashy "show" next to the other, and our children are watching this garbage. This is truly dumbing down America and no one cares.
Who is Sharon Osbourne. A washed up old rock singers wife who is so desperate to earn money to keep up that lifestyle, she is selling her soul and that of her children.... oooops, maybe she is going to sue me now.

Kelly is not a slut, and never was portrayed as such.

Sharon started the OzzFest, an extremely popular "lollapalooza" type concert for the hard rock / heavy metal bands. EXTREMELY profitable, and has launched numerous bands.

Sharon has been Ozzy's manager since the break with her dad's group Black Sabbath.

Sharon was the driving force behind his albums and tours, and has done a great job at it.

If not for the shenanigans, Ozzy would be held as one of the best male vocalists in the world, he has not destroyed his voice like the singer from Led Zep.

I have been to 20 Ozzy / reunited Black Sabbath concerts over the years, and I can tell you that no one has a voice as great as Ozzy's

Ozzy is hardly washed up, and is quite prolific and very talented. Most of his "controversial" music was misunderstood. I would suggest you pick up "Blizzard of Ozz" featuring the late great guitarist Randy Rhodes. Ozzy also recorded the first pro environment song - Revelation Mother Earth

You should only speak on subjects that you have at least a clue about, Liken Enya and Elvis
