I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Ted Haggard, the megachurch pastor and National Association of Evangelicals president felled by a gay sex and drugs scandal in 2006, says that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi regularly sent words of comfort and support in the two year following his fall. Haggard is the subject of a forthcoming HBO documentary by Alexandra Pelosi, the speaker's daughter.

Hmmmmm.... I guess that's nice. Wonder if they were friends before his well-deserved public humiliation.

Wonder what she thinks of Haggard's recent efforts to revive his empire. He's still saying gayness is bad, but from an insider angle now that he can't pretend to be an outsider anymore.
I sure don't feel sorry for him, except that he's not able to live the life he really wants to live.

In America "LIFE = HARD"

Why is that?
In a land of milk and honey, that we may know no hunger, why is there starvation in the world?

We have work to do and don't have time for distraction, spin, tantrums, denials, BS, gridlock.

We are in too crucial a dangerous time. Straighten up soldier, there's work to be done.
Screw the mission of the looney prez of yesteryear, "PINKY AND THE BRAIN CHENEY"

IF WE don't move on it now, it will be too late to turn the ship. We are very near the edge of the "Waterfall"

I tend to fall in with RationalRadioJack below in wishing Pelosi and Reid would go away. They give me the most unnerving feeling of having sold out in so many ways. And Pelosi appears to be a posturing older Barbie wannabe. That might sound mean, but I'm not afraid to say what it appears to be. I'm not going to go along with the Dems just because someone says it's the thing to do. I was taught to think for myself, and going along with a lot of this type of nonsense doesn't cut it. Haggard is no better than Jim Bakker and the rest of the over-the-edge evangelists that try to push their views on the rest of us by using fear tactics. For Pelosi and her daughter to fawn over him is immature and shows a lack of ability to think independently.

Did mom Pelosi reach out in order to get her daughter in the door?

or

Did mom Pelosi reach out after hearing the compelling story from her daughter who was producing a special about Pastor Ted . . .

OMG - - Pelosi is so not a republican in any way shape or form. She is a great lobbiest for her real estate developer financial supporters - but none of the sweet heart deals on the Presidio went to republicans I can promise you - - -

Sick and undignified for a democrat but since Pelosi is a republican-light I guess it isn't too surprising that she'd descend into the slime. Hypocracy!

Good for her, way to go Madame Speaker. I for one like Pelosi, and more importantly, Obama really likes her.

Let me give you some inside scoop on this Ted Haggard REinvention Flick.

It is a total kiss ass job for Haggard.

Mike Jones, the man who was brave enough to bust this hypocrite was left out of this story.

She/Pelosi's daughter is only telling one side...the Haggard side. Alexandria told
Mike Jones to F*ck you and F*ck off..you are not relevant to this story.

These Pelosi's and Reids have to go . They don't fit in to this new "change".

Besides.......we don't care if Haggard ilkes democrats....I mean really.

Reaching out to him was commendable. I admire anyone who can choose a charitable solution over a dismissive, vindictive one. Sometimes, people need to hit the skids before they gain their epiphany, but it's never too late.

At least now that he's suffered as so many Americans suffer, he understands that the programs Dems champion are good. Hopefully he will have a change of mind. I never understood why Christians were so fanatically repub when the most charitable programs come from progressives and liberals (Dems usually made them laws), not repubs.

Oh well, I say better late than never.

It's always sad that people don't understand the old Indian saying of don't judge a man until you walk a mile in his moccasins.

I know the Bible tells these Haggard types treat thy neighbor as thy would thyself but that seems to get lost in these mega-churches promising wealth, for donations.

Now that he's has had to walk in the moccasins of the working poor, the people he used to beg from, seems he has a whole new appreciation of what Dems are about, watching out for the poor, making sure no matter how badly a parent is doing financially, the children should not suffer, do without food, housing, because one parent left, & the other can't make ends meet.

Dems try to follow Christ's teaching of taking care of the least amongst us.

It never ceases to amaze me that because I care more for the living, and it doesn't matters me if my neighbors are gay & want to be married, that I have no values or respect for God.

Teddy, your learning buddy, we care for everyone, no matter what their situation is.

We don't much care for hypocrites/Cafeteria Christians. But we'll allow them to live their lives their way, just don't tell us how we should be living.

Nancy, I'm shocked, who would have thought you could be so magnanimous to one of the agents of intolerance. Good for you.

Winning the hearts and minds.

Go Dems!

Glad Pelosi could comfort a fraud and hypocrite . She certainly provided NO comfort to Americans who watch their Constitution being shredded and their military misused to the tune of millions of lives and billions of dollars.

t-bone;
This cabal of idiots administration, is one thing else besides liars, the are spoiled brats. It took 65million people to say:

"STOP IN THE NAME OF THE LAW!" to stop them from carrying out even more dangerous deeds in OUR name. Nancy is one squeemish woman, but she's not wonder woman. She needed some backing to support her constituents in her district, whose rights were being trampled on. Their right to have a LIFEMATE, or Soulmate Ceremony to be called a family. They couldn't visit their sick in hospitals when, their loved ones needed assurance and comfort. When their mate dies, no matter how much they loved each other, or how many years they are a couple, they still aren't allowed one thing of value, from their partner, even if their is a will saying so.

Rules are being broken, by the non-tolerant family members that drove the gay family member away in the first place.

Is this right?
How would you feel, if you had to sneak memorabilia, of your loved one, because the family has swooped in like vultures of hate and intolerance, during grief, and kicked you out of your home?

Is this right?
How Christ like to treat others as you would be treated.

Change!

It is amazing what shame and fear will make you do. Kind of sad. While I have empathy for him, I still can't stand the hypocrisy.

Wow. I'm impressed with Pelosi -- don't think I'd have had it in me to be that generous of spirit. Of course, that is the ONLY way to change people's minds -- by walking the talk and being a living example of that which you espouse.

Oddly, I also find myself impressed with Haggard, who appears more open to change and learning than many of his Republican ex-colleagues.

Don't get TOO impressed with Haggard. Chuck Colson had a similar "conversion" while being someone's bee-otch in prison, but he eventually came back to his old rotten, fetid self.

If what was written here about Pelosi is true, i find that quite admirable. I myself would NEVER have been so forgiving. I wonder if Hannity, Limblob, O'Rally, etal, will give her any credit (won't be holding my breath, that's fer sure!).
