I Like ItI Don’t Like It

This afternoon, President Obama and the first lady escorted George and Laura Bush from the steps of the Capitol to a helicopter that took them to Texas. The two couples seemed as always to get along. In all the fanfare of today, this understated moment may have been overlooked by some, but the photos speak for themselves: George Bush has left the building.

I think one of the captions says alot. The Saudi Prince says Bush left a "sickening" legacy in the Middle East. would I rather have a president who could care less what other nations think he should be and do(Bush) or one that holds his first television interview on Arab TV (Obama)?
THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH. You kept ALL of us safe here in America. Even these who are sitting here whining about you. I am grateful we are all allowed our voices thanks to you. Let's hope we will be free and safe for the next four years. I pray we will.

It was such a glorious moment to see Bush exiting. The events that took place yesterday were so surreal. Bush left a big pile of crap in Obama's lap, and it'll take a generation of taxpayers to clean it up...

No, he didn't. and he also didn't steal the whoite house china, linens and all the "W" keys off all of the keyboards, like his predacessor did!!! :)

The whole "W" key thing, uhhhh, that's a right wing LIE. It is an untruth, a fallacy. If you can PROVE IT, then by all means, do so. If not, take that crap to newsmax or malkin

You are aware the "W" key story is a hoax, right?

Perhaps he didn't steal the china, linens, etc. -- but he certainly left the cupboard bare.

The best thing about George Bush leaving for Texas is: If anything NEW goes wrong from now on, it can't be pinned on him, the Republicans, or conservatives considering the Democratic make up of Congress and the oval office. But people will try nonetheless.

But that excuse will only last for so long. :)

God speed, President Bush!!

Unlike a lot of people here who have no class or respect, I will say this enjoy your private life Mr. Bush. You lead this country through its darkest days in nearly 60 years and prevented what most was unprevententable post 9-11. You reorganized national securtiy in a way that all should be thankful for, did more to help fight AIDS and poverty in Africa than any other President before you and brought freedom to Iraq and most importantly you goverened with your principles instead of the polls. Maybe had you faced a lot of your problems the same way you faced these prementioned problems you would have been seen in much better terms when you left office, but regardless no one can take away the fact that at least some good came of your reign and you handled yesterday with class and respect. Good luck and God bless President George W. Bush.

I'd rather have no class and no respect as opposed to no intelligence like you. 8 years and that was all you could come up with., remotehomelife?

rabiddog6708, I could throw in a lot more but those are his big accomplishments. I know this might seem crazy to you, but I am in fact a liberal who voted for the current President. What you dont seem to get is that maybe unlike you I have learned is that George Bush is a person just like the rest of us. I can see good in the work he has done and I can see his failures, either way I rooted for him to succeed just like I root for all my leaders to do well. I respect the work he has done and wish him the best in his retirement. As hard as it may to get through you and your big head, both sides have screwed up in the last eight years and both have also done good work. Once you realize that maybe then you will begin to get the message of the current President that the time of bickering politics needs to end and an age of finding a way to work together again needs to begin.

george w. bush led this country INTO it's darkest days. deliberately... and knowingly... so he and some buddies could profit from it.

9/11 was the BEST DAY OF GEORGE WALKER BUSH'S LIFE!

bin laden certainly knew which president he could lead around by the nose.

Huh? Have you been living under a rock?

The man welcomed 9-11; attacked, invaded and occupied a country that was no threat to the USA, massacred 150+ of its citizens, allowed the worst financial crisis to take place since the Great Depression and didn't get Osama bin-Laden.

Good bye and good riddance!!!

And did you ever hear such a self serving rendition at his Texas speech. One wonders if the word "I" were taken out of the limited vocabulary Bush has, would he even be able to speak. I once received advice from a 94 year old gentleman: Never ever believe someone who constantly uses the word "I". He is an egomaniac not much respected by friends and enemies alike. Even his provable mistakes are never admitted to, He can do no wrong. The 94 year old gent went on to say 5 or 6 hundred years ago there was a theory called the Divine Right of Kings. It was believed that God controlled all the events that happened anywhere, and everyone knows God can do no wrong. Therfore I am King because God wants me to be King and it follows that if God can do no wrong, And God made me King, I can do no wrong. Ridiculous and fallacious you may say, but look at just what happened the past 8 years. They spout God, do bad deeds, and say they are right in doing those travesties.

You know, deke4, I think anyone who is POTUS has to posess an ego. If not, how in the world would they be able to make decisions that effect the entire world.

And to tell you the truth, President Bush's ego is no larger than any POTUS's ego has ever been. It's a prerequistite to the job. Deal with it~

Decision making has nothing to do with Ego; decision making has to do with selecting options.

I'm torn between which made me happier yesterday. I was smiling and tearing up as President Obama took the reins of our country but I was cheering and applauding as Bush was escorted out of Washington. The next time I ever want to see Bush is when he's sitting at the defendents table in a courtroom. "decider"? I'd say more like "destroyer" ! GOOD-BYE AND GOOD RIDDENCE W.
