How come no Republican is saying anything that Rush is being unpatriotic. Didn't all of us were told for 8 years, that if you are speaking against the President you are being unpatriotic.

So this is what sour grapes tastes like!!

We were told eight years ago that criticizing the President is unpatriotic. Wanting any kind of change in America is unpatriotic.

Limbaugh is not criticizing the President. He is flat out wishing for his failure. Limbaugh says that he's being criticized because Obama's the first black President and everyone should root for the first black President to succeed...that's not why! We want Obama to succeed because if he doesn't we're screwed.

I haven't heard any Republican besides John McCain (who has been gracious in his dissent) say that he wants Obama to succeed. To wish failure on a President at a time when his success means more to this country than any time since 1933 is unpatriotic. I agree with you totally.

I also want Obama to fail if his success means turning America into a socialist state. That is the point Limbaigh was making. I agree 100% with him.

Tell me libs, when did any of you ever say that you wanted Bush to succeed?

These words are being taken OUT OF CONTEXT. this is absurd. You need to hear the entire discussion to understand what he is talking about and what he means. It is no secret that Rush is it not praising and making obama to be all these things that other media outlets are making him out to be, BUT to put it in short, he was saying something along the lines that he hopes his policies fail because then maybe AMERICA will wake from bowing down to him and calling him the messiah. All do not bow down to obama. Rush is one of them, and never will be. good for him.

He wants America to succeed ultimately, and in a weird sense he would accept it if obama does succeed, but he blatantly does not believe in his policies as his methods have been tried before and have failed. Reagan had a similar economic crisis, and instead of SPENDING and saying that Government is the ANSWER like obama is saying and doing, Reagan CUT TAXES, and said Government was the PROBLEM. Things turned out alright for Reagan, so please tell what he did wrong and what obama is doing right then?

I heard what he said. He made what's called a strawman argument. He twisted Obama's position and attacked the incorrect argument. He claimed that Obama wants to make as much of the economy public as possible. There is no evidence that this is Obama's intention. Even if it was, Rush didn't even give it a fair criticism. He just dismissed it without explanation. There's no point in making such a statement except to cause trouble.

Rush will continue to spout his ridiculous opinions and they will be proven to be false. He will then have no credibility with his uneducated audience and will fade into obscurity.

The world is changing. Anyone spouting this kind of garbage will find that out the hard way.

Trust me, eventually he will slip up and say something so racist that he will be boycotted and off the air in disgrace.

It is just a matter of time.

I seriously doubt he'll ever be boycotted, no matter what he says. His loyal listeners all agree with his opinions and, if they don't, they change their opinions to match his. None of them are capable of thinking for themselves, they are simply sheep following a misguided, bellowing Pied Piper.

Rush, savor the moment while you can... extreme Right-wingers like you - who do nothing but promote fear - your days are very numbered.

Its people like you who have destroyed your own party.. this is why you lost BIG this election.... you better learn to get with the times kiddo or prepare to go away...

Under normal circumstances and when dealing with a normal conservative commentator, the appropriate reaction to 'I hope he fails' would probably be to ignore it and go on with the show.

In this case, however, it seems like the man has actually digged a little too deep in terms of building that hole in which he disappears.

Anybody agreeing with him on anything (inasmuch as it could be claimed that on occasion he makes statements which can be agreed or disagreed with rather than being noise) can now be asked the question:

Do you or do you not wish the current president to fail. And if you desire his failure, then what exactly is your view towards responsibility. Explain yourself. Before you take a dive into that hole.

Rush Limbaugh exemplifies the self-serving, Machiavellian mindset of the far right. Now we see the extent of his self-importance and self-righteousness.

Limbaugh and his ilk are ignoring the fundamental reality that, with respect to the U.S. economy and our standing in the world, when the President succeeds, we all share in his success. When the President fails, his failure reflects on all Americans.

Limbaugh would wish to see countless additional Americans lose their jobs, their retirement savings, and their homes, or witness more innocent lives lost at the hands of political extremists, merely so that he could sit back and gloat.

In short, Limbaugh is little more than a bombastic, bellicose blowhard.

Bush started all of the "Bailout" proceedings! Bush is the preiminent neo-con! How in the kcuf is this "liberalism"? How is this "Obama's resession"? Better yet, how many people (if we can call them"people") still say Rush is right? Why is this even a story? The better story would be,"Limbaugh is arrested for treason/drug possession/slander/being a duche nozzle!"

"What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them, that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long, no longer apply." Pres. Barack Obama

The Corpulent Goebbels is part of the past now. I feel sorry for the fearful and ignorant that still listen to his swill.

One of the best ways to judge character is by how the person handles defeat. The Grace to accept defeat and respect the winner is also good way to predict how likely that person will succeed in the future. Rush is telling us that he does not expect to succeed for a very long time. Truly he is to be pitied. Final desperate flailing for relevance. Farewell Rush. Your hero had the sense to go to Texas and hide. Follow please follow.
