Britney

The Parents Television Council is warning parents about the Britney Spears song "If U Seek Amy" and urging radio stations not to broadcast it because the nonprofit organization believes it "would violate the broadcast indecency law" if aired between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Saying the title phrase quickly out loud produces a sound akin to spelling out the F-word, said PTC president Tim Winter. "There is no misinterpreting the lyrics to this song, and it's certainly not about a girl named Amy," he said of the track, the third single from Spears' new Jive album, "Circus."

Lalalalala

Oh baby baby
Have you seen Amy tonight?
Is she in the bathroom
Is she smokin' up outside
Oh

Oh baby baby
Does she take a piece of lime
For the drink that Imma buy her
Do you know just what she likes
Oh

Oh Oh
Tell me have you seen her
Because I'm so
Oh
I can't get her off of my brain

I just want to go to the party she gonna go
Can somebody take me home
Ha ha he ha ha ho

Love me hate me
Say what you want about me
But all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to If You Seek Amy
Love me hate me
But can't you see what I see
All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to If You Seek Amy

Lalalalalala

Amy told me that she's gonna meet me up
I don't know where or when and now they're closing up the club
Oh

I've seen her want to drive before she knows my face
But it's hard to see with all the people standing in the way
Oh

Oh oh
Tell me have you seen her
Because I'm so
Oh
I can't get her off of my brain

I just want to go to the party she's gonna go
Can somebody take me home
Ha ha he ha ha ho

Love me hate me
Say what you want about me
But all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to If You Seek Amy
Love me hate me
But can't you see what I see
All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to If You Seek Amy

Oh
So what you want about me
Oh
But can't you see what I see
Oh
So what you want about me

So tell me if you've seen her
Cause I've been waiting here forever
Oh baby baby
If You Seek Amy tonight
Oh
Oh baby baby
We'll do whatever you like
Oh baby baby baby
Oh baby baby baby

Lalalalalala
Lalalalalala

Love me hate me
So what you want about me
But all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to If You Seek Amy
Love me hate me
But can't you seek what I see
All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to If You Seek Amy
Love me hate me so what you want about me (yeah)
Love me hate me
But can't you see what I see
All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to If You Seek Amy

Oh
So what you want about me
Oh
But can't you see what I see
Oh So what you want about me

All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to If You Seek Amy

Lyrically speaking, Bob Dylan ain't exactly quaking in his boots.

Controversy sells. Another mediocre performer uses the easily offended for fame and fortune. Circuses and bread for the lowest common denominator.

A Canadian band called April Wine did this same thing more than 25 years ago with a song called "If You See Kay."

Won't somebody think of the children! (rolls eyes)

Who cares, really. It's just another naughty pop song that will be forgotten in a few weeks. Move on people. Nothing to see here.

What are they smokin? The song is crap. I see no controversy here.

Parents Television Council needs to get a life. Only in their twisted minds do you hear the F-word. Groups like this have to 'find' (make-up, is more like it)' things to keep themselves in the news. PTC should spend time doing something useful like getting kids out of the house and way from the TV and computer all day.

This song is not obscene. I admit it's not a song for kids, simply because
of the one line about 'smokin' up'.

But this song just describes a popular chick at a party.

Young people do "smoke up" at parties.

This just in: the Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman-led quartet want to cover it for their new album.

oh my lord. I didn't think a song could possibly get worse than 'Womanizer.' Can we just create a music themed version of The Razzies and give Britney Spears a lifetime achievement award and finally call it a career already? The woman can't sing and her manager must enjoy punching her in the back of the head because he is employing some of the worst song-writers known to man.
Seriously Britney, just sell whatever unnecessary possessions you have and buy a comfortable chair and live off your royalty cheques for the rest of your days. It would certainly be a mutually beneficial relationship in my humble opinion.

Yawn!!!

What a waste of a perfectly good controversy......

I remember a song called "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy". It was a silly song that made more sense, and was better written.

Boy, is that SAD, or what?

Gee, was this song written by a 13 year old? So much for her "comeback". She's as bad as Madonna was 20 years ago, except Madonna was smart enough to surround herself with talented people. This stuff is pop garbage. There are some really good young singers out there, why do the recording companies waste their time and money on anti-talents like Britney?

The only think indecent about this whole thing is that this lip-syncing semi-trained monkey still has a career.

I guess young people really like Brittney. However, I don't see what the attraction is. Her songs are stupid and she has extremely limited vocal talent. To each his own I guess!

I am not a fan - she comes across (pun intended) as a poor imitation of Madonna to me. But I support her freedom to sing any damn thing she wants.

God Bless the ACLU, my number one charity. Freedom is a precious thing.

Anything that reduces the playtime Britney's "art" gets is good by me.
