The Bush twins wrote a letter to Sasha and Malia Obama, with their advice for how to handle life in the White House. "Today" asked if they would read the letter to viewers -- and they agreed. Watch:

Barbara and Jenna Bush advised the girls to "go to anything and everything you possibly can ... Just go. Four years goes by so fast, so absorb it all, enjoy it all!"

They advised the girls to surround themselves with loyal friends, cherish their pets, go to T-ball games, have swimming parties, and generally "have fun and enjoy your childhood in such a magical place to live and play."

I truly LOVE this... it is so thoughtful and honest, and very kind thing to do.

(Let's bring it together people. Don't be hatin')

I suspect Chelsea has been very discrete about advice.

And BTW...Chelsea...Rose Garden...Obama girls in wedding party...plenty of tissues.

Well, that was very sweet. Of course they're totally wrong about their father, but they gave some good advice.

I think they are just looking for a stage. If they were so sincere, they would give this letter to the girls privately.

Now that our dad is no longer president, we will have trouble getting invited to those college kegger parties where drunk frat boys used to want to "get to know us" because our daddy was pres. Oh well, we can always do "Girls Gone Wild", that guy is about as popular as we are....

Unless you girls invite us to be babysitters so that we can get on the news.

You girls will have fun, cause your daddy gets to go on vacation almost everyday. Being president allowed our daddy to do nothing but make money for our rich "Uncles' who used to buy us nice presents.

Gram keeps calling your parents "uppity"...must be an old word for cool... And she keeps mixing your last name up like when she said, "The Barack Jefferson Bin Ladens are movin' on up to the WHITE house."

I hope HP starts addressing NSA spying on civilians. Olberman has been talking about it for three nights in a row. Bush spying on voters, news reporters and political enemies is so much more important than this.

yup. i'm not sure what the wingnuts hope to achieve by trolling here. maybe it's just their entertainment. the Democrats are IN the whitehouse and will remain so for the next 8-12 years. we won fair and square, and 8 years won't be long enough to right the wrongs committed under Cheney-Bush.

No, you were probably using swear words to get your point across.... Bush= the new four letter word to never be spoken again in polite company.

I hope it's not true you've been blocked. We're supposed to be reaching across the isle and listening to other voices. Isn't that part of the reason people voted for President Obama?

Say what you want to, but i think the twins voted for obama. That was powerful. That wasn't rep to dem, that was human to human, and if you don't understand that then chances are, your part of the problem in this nation.

Dear Obama Girls,

Our daddy is stupid....really stupid. We wish he wasn't....but he just can't help himself. We know you'll love living in the White House. It's a big place and there's always something to do there. We're glad our father is out of the White House now because at least we no longer have to live under the same roof as him. Anyhow, we hope your father is smarter than ours and does better things for our country. But you know as well as us that certainly won't be hard to do. Anyway, good luck and enjoy your time as First Daughters!!

Most likely a Bush speech writer wrote it.

i'm amazed at how many negative comments there are on this letter/video. it was sincere and done with class. posssibly its alot of built up anger or bitterness of the last eight years. but guys, you can relax now! your guy is in!! its time to find something or someone else to hate. i have all the faith in the world it will take you obamamites no time at all. this transition period must be difficult without something to whine about. is this the best you could come up with? i hear the guys in gauntanamo didn't get dessert with their lunch today. sick 'em guys!

Do you really want me to take apart your silly, sanctimonious reply apart bit by bit, word by word, piece by piece? Do you really? Next time you decide to join the fray, come prepared. To suggest that an Obama victory, or a victory by any Democrat, has anything (ANYTHING) to do with how quickly Americans must "move on" or exonerate Bush for eight years of dismantling justice, civil liberties, economic structures, and our standing in the world, is just plan idiotic. Our contempt for Bush is not washed away by a mere victory by the opposition.

How sweet . . . to use the PUBLIC airways to show a "private gesture", kinda like pulling up infront of the Soup Line and gving out company imprinted spoons with your PR guy shooting pictures . . . .

"four years?" how SPECIAL . . . I'm willing to bet on 8, and even more until a Republican occupies the WH . . . any takers?

Wow. I guess the hatred continues on this site. The Bush girls showed 100% more class, grace, and maturity than the vast majority of HuffPo crowd. I hope the Obama girls have a positive experience and aren't targeted for ridiculous attacks like the Bush girls.

Oh dear me, there's "that" word again - h.a.t.e.? Why is it you cannot provide constructive criticism without resorting to "sewer level division language"? They were born and reared in the Bush clan. Their values have been embedded from an early age. If they seem to you to be genuine and caring, why were they not visiting Vet hospitals or family members who lost loved ones in Iraq, etc. Please remember that "actions speak louder than words".
I see this only as an attempt to portray their daddy as a good person and in their eyes, he may be just that, which is an indication that they are "not all together".
If I were the Obama's, I would say thank you for the advise and then just "chuck it" and do what you feel you need/want to do.

While some people here might actually be genuine about offering "constructive criticism," the vast tenor of the post here strike me as rather mean spirited. I note in particular one post who referred to their "drunken antics," as if they were the first college students in history to have have drunk alcohol while underage.

But even in your post, instagladiator, you basically said that being part of that family de facto means that they must be not caring folks because you don't see them at Vet hospitals. Hate may be too strong a word, but it hardly qualifies as "constructive criticism."

Michelle Obama strikes me as a nice enough person, and the fact that I don't see her visiting vet hospitals all the time doesn't change my opinion of her. So, I don't hold young 20-something women to a higher standard.

All in all, the crowd here really needs to mellow out. The Bush girls should be just as off limits as the Obama girls. Politics isn't beanbag, but there should at least be a modicum of civility.

How do you know that they didn't visit VA hospitals?

Jenna spent a lot of time throughout Latin America and the Caribbean working as an intern for UNICEF. She taught, in Spanish, and worked with young women who had or were born with AIDS. She wrote an inspiring book called "Ana's Story" which tells of her experiences.

Don't be so quick to judge when you don't know the facts.

Besides, they and Henry should be in Iraq fighting for freedom.

They are media sucking up...trying to hold onto their last seconds of their 15 minutes..

Next on their list are all the things Paris Hilton did to stay in the spotlight....porn release from an ex-boyfriend, getting drunk and falling down in public, get out and try and steal the spotlight whenever possible....oops, some of those were done already.
