Lisa Jackson Confirmed As Head Of EPA After Anonymous Hold

Lisa Jackson

President Obama's "green team" is nearly complete, as the Senate on Thursday confirmed Lisa Jackson to run the Environmental Protection Agency and Nancy Sutley to head of the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

Senators also approved Ray LaHood as Secretary of Transportation. All three officials were confirmed by voice vote.

Jackson's appointment had been in limbo, as reports suggested that a Republican senator, John Barrasso of Wyoming, was blocking it until he received some clarity about Carol Browner's role as Obama's top adviser on climate and energy issues. Barrasso later consented to allowing the confirmation to proceed after talking to Browner, according to a spokesperson for the Environment and Public Works Committee, which was managing the confirmation. (Barrasso told TPM the same thing).

What did Carol Browner say Barrasso. " We won the election, get over it". Unfortunately, Obama's green team is still the least discussed element if the administration among MSM journalists. It wont be long before the corporate sponsors of MSM start threatening to hold back advertising dollars to get them to start blasting Obama for impeding economic growth because of his environmental policies. The media will buy it hook, line and sinker even though there is no credible correlation between protecting the environment and and economic growth.

well. How kind and thoughtful of him. I don't know what he was scared of, but you should give him credit for at least changing his mind.

Remember Bush put a lot of people into position thru executive order when the legislature was all off for the month? Or something. My point being that if this one guy wanted to be a nuisance, Obama could just ignore him.

OK... we need to let them have their fits. They don't last long, anyway.

Yeah, I just love his explanation:

"John Barrasso of Wyoming, was blocking it until he received some clarity about Carol Browner's role as Obama's top adviser on climate and energy issues."

Where was his interrogation on starting the War in Iraq. Now, he doesn't understands the concepts such as "advise", "climate", and energy.

That's because for republicans:

advise means ORDER

Climate means the room temperature

energy means resources that can be taken from others and sold for a massive profit.
