Gordon Ramsay

NY Post:

He's hellfire in the kitchen, but salty celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay may not be able to stand the heat himself as he faces a crumbling restaurant empire, the tax man and saucy allegations of infidelity.

The pugnacious TV star of "Kitchen Nightmares," "Hell's Kitchen" and "The F Word" is in a pinch.

His flagship London restaurant, Foxtrot Oscar, has shuttered for two days a week. Reports have also surfaced that two other London restaurants, Ramsay's Sloane Street and The Devonshire Pub, are for sale - a claim he denies - and documents show he allegedly owes back taxes.

Folks just love to get off on somebody else's possible demise. All of you who don't like the show can go watch American Idol or some other crap, G.R, is a great chef weather you like him or not.

I like cooking shows with a bit of an edge, but this guy is too negative, too full of himself.

I like "No Reservations" with Tony Bourdain, if it is available in your area check it out.

Ramsey is cool, he'll bounce back from this. A divorce might hurt more if she takes half. Ooch!

Hell's Kitchen is an S&M show. The viewer has not idea what is being cooked- just screaming, cussing and thrashing about. Any self- respecting line cook would walk in those conditions. Cooks are often deranged themselves and would either kick the chef''s ass or slash his tires.
I'm sure Ramsey is a fine cook and tough businessman but the TV show is truly a kitchen nightmare.

Maybe after seeing his show, many people boycotted his restaurant. He is a rude and distasteful man.

I love Ramsey goes in there, opens up the damn fridge and then put people who serve us crap to shame in front of everyone. If you summon Gordon Ramsey, clean your damn fridge out, change the grease, wipe the grease off the walls, ect....

Kitchen Nightmares was fun until the formula was repeated ad nauseam. Just earlier tonight saw a teaser for the new season of Hell's Kitchen (a horrible show) and was wondering when his 15 minutes were going to be up.

Most businesses that expand too quickly and grow too rapidly end up going under, sadly. Better to manage what you have properly and keep a good thing going.

He may be a talented chef but why on earth did he have to swear so much and in public? I understand that this became a part of his "brand" but, honestly, his continual presence on British television screens the past few years has done as much to lower standards as anyone. People look at him and think; "well, if its OK for him to swear, it must be OK for me to swear....anywhere I like, to anybody I like, whenever I like." That is wrong and sad. I hope he disappears altogether for this reason alone.

You should read Anthony Bourdain's KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL or see the short-lived sitcom based on it. According to it, chefs are antisocial types to begin with.

Love Bourdain and the book is great.

I enjoyed him on Hell's Kitchens but it is to a point he is over exposed now with too many shows. He calls it like it is, like I do, but it get's old quickly on so many shows.

The hardest thing to manage is growth. If you don't manage it well when things get tough, it will get exponentially worse. When you are in the growth phase, sales solves a lot of problems and masks lack of controls on costs and efficiency. Here you have a perfect example of this. A simple product without proper oversight and it's difficult times. Easy to say-hard to do. A leaning experience I hope he overcomes.

I hope he goes down in char-grilled flames. Everyone gets what they deserve. Words to live by.
