Move Over, Hooters: New 'Breastaurants' Are Moving In On Market

Good restaurateurs know how to sell the sizzle, and few chains have done a better job of hustling the stuff over the past 2½ decades than Hooters.

But now, inspired by the success of Hooters' wings-toting female staff, restaurants such as Twin Peaks, Bone Daddy's and other local operators with cute waitresses, cold beer and a male clientele are, well, busting out all over. And Texas, where the sole Hooters' franchisee is both the chain's sales leader and No. 1 in locations nationally, is a prime market for the "breastaurant" concept.

To say 'only' is a very bad generalization. Some are like that and they should be tarred and feathered for the frat boys that they are. But... its not wrong to like women's bodies in addition to everything else. Thats the problem. Saying that men who appreciate great bodies are cads is unfair. I like great bodies in addition to intelligence and all the other good things that should go along with it. Best of all worlds.

Think of it this way... remember the "All this and brains too" t-shirts? Sounds good to me. Oh... considering the economy these days, if working at one of these places increases your income that would not be there otherwise, not many would say no to it.

If you go to Hooters at all, go in the afternoon. I haven't been there for a long time, but the afternoon venue was the ticket. The beer was cold, and the staff was friendly and very easy on the eyes.

Unless you like being surrounded by a bunch of braindead Nascar Jethro's, don't go at night.

Twin Peaks...When I first went there with the hubby, I right away thought of the old TV show. Didn't even occur to me that it would be sexed up. Walked in, then abruptly stopped. Hubby smacked into me, making us both almost fall down. I was very shocked at what the waitresses were wearing. (Less than the ladies at Hooters) Then (stoopid me) got it. Twin Peaks. Duh. But the food was good, and the waitresses were fine.

But, it seems the days of "family dining" are going out...Men going out by themselves is 'in'...

I never understood the draw of these places. How exactly is it different than say Chilis or Bennigans? I see cute waitresses at every restaurant I have been to. Now if I want to see a cute woman with large breasts or whatever, forgive me, I want to see her eat a banana or something.
