Davos Day 1: Gauging The Pain Around The World
The title was Update 2009: North America, but it might as well have been called, A Tour of the World: Who's Got It Worse?
From Pakistan to Afghanistan to Israel, Iran and yes, North America, moderator Josef Joffe of Germany's Die Zeit led the audience and panelists through a gauntlet of which threat was most worrisome: terrorism, nuclear weapons, the failure of the peace process, or greedy bankers and out-of-control deficit spending in New York and Washington.
