New CPS Head Huberman Booed At School Forum

Newly-installed Chicago Public Schools chief Ron Huberman today was booed by a crowd of parents, teachers and community officials upset about plans to close and reorganize 22 schools.

Huberman, whom Mayor Richard Daley moved over from the CTA on Tuesday, looked on sheepishly as the crowd booed as his name was mentioned.

well some schools need to be closed - PERIOD. Being the head of the CPS will mean battling bad teachers, a union that defends them and unpopular choices. Let's see THE RESULTS. I don't care what parents or teachers think if it's the right thing for the community and the kids.

He should be used to being booed - he worked for the CTA. The worst organization in the city.

plans to reorganize schools are not the reason to boo him... Again... if the head of the CTA is qualified to be head of CPS then bus drivers are qualified to be teachers

Huberman must have polaroids of Daley doing something illegal because Huberman is the guy who headed the CTA and couldn't get the paperwork done in time to get a $150 million Federal Grant for new buses. Why is this incompetent person now heading CPS? Do we want our children to suffer under this man's incompetence?
