NRSC Attacks Reid: Campaign 2010 Adwatch (VIDEO)

Argh. These election seasons just do not ever end, not even for a second. Just when you thought it was safe to watch television again -- at least in Reno, Nevada -- the National Republican Senatorial Committee has gone and gotten an ad up for the 2010 election. Hellfire and damnation upon them! What's new is that the NRSC has borrowed the "Obama font" for most of this advertisement -- for about three-quarters of it, anyway. What's old and tired is that the ad attacks Harry Reid, of all people! Sheesh! Republican Senate minorities never had such a good friend!

The NRSC told Politico, "Releasing a television ad this early in the cycle demonstrates the NRSC's commitment to holding Senate Democrats accountable and electing Republican candidates in 2010." Could the NRSC have waited a few more months to make these points, demonstrating their commitment to giving the American people a break from the campaign season? Yes they could. But, because they just COULD NOT WAIT, here is an ad where the guy from Sling Blade gravely intones "a trill-yun doll-uhrs?" a bunch of times and a hammer slams into a piggy bank, because the best visual metaphors are outdated ones.
