I Like ItI Don’t Like It

As they begin meeting in Washington today, many members of the Republican National Committee are focusing their ire against what they considered George W. Bush's anti-conservative policies and trying to dump the man he tapped to run the GOP.

With six candidates competing for the party's helm at the winter meetings this week, some committee members are determined to remove the current RNC chairman, Mike Duncan, who is seen as a candidate of the status quo at a time when they want to sever all ties to the former president. Duncan has held the office since 2007, when he ran unopposed after Bush chose him for the post.

Funny how Repubs are turning on each other. Now we can see their TRUE colors. They are what
we knew they would be (after supporting Bush for 8 years,) nothing but Turncoats. Just like the wall
street turncoats. All have been seen for what they are and America won't continue to be trampled on
by a Party of the Past. Nor will we continue to allow these wall street freaks to continue to drive us in
the ground the way Bush did. Nationalize the Banks so we can at least see our money in a safe place
and not in Wall streets greedy hands. I can't wait to get rid of Wells Fargo & Citibank. Greedy Bastards. I hope they all burn in hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wanda I agree with you. Where were these people when they supported Bush nearlly 100% of the time on everything he wanted. Now all of a sudden they hate him. Give me break.

So if they hate Bush so much, why did they all vote in lockstep with Bush on practically every foolish thing he wanted to do? I don't understand republican politicians. They spent like drunken sailors while they were in charge, waging war and providing corporate welfare to their rich buddies with their suck-up-the-wealth strategies, they drove the country into the toilet in oh so many ways. But now they're whining (and obstructing) about Obama's plan to spend money on repairing the economy and supporting the middle class. This seems to me to be greedy and/or clueless and irresponsible and hopelessly entrenched in playing the game of politics rather than fixing this mess. They're touting their "better plan" to stimulate the economy, but what makes them think they're trusted anymore to know what "better" is. These 6 million jobs they say their plan will create are likely in the yacht building business and minimum wage grunt work. How dumb do they think the American public really is?

Where does the GOP stand on fiscal issues? The party supported the 43rd President to the end. Talk about getting hoodwinked; the greatest socialization of business, in the history of the United States, is the bank/AIG/automaker bailouts that were led by the GOP. 1 trillion dollars - socialized in a matter of a few months. The GOP is dead. Time to start a new party.

If these guys hate Bush, it's only because they are in the doghouse now for supporting him. They voted for anything Bush wanted. They blocked every investigation and actively prevented Congressional oversight. They confirmed all his nominees. They ARE Bush. If they hate Bush, then they hate themselves, and that makes it UNANIMOUS. The GOP SUCKS.

Obama was roundly criticized for supposedly elevating Limbaugh with his somewhat flippant comment about only listening to Rush.

But predictably, it went straight to Limbaugh's head and he wasted no time insulting the GOP leadership while pumping himself up. Maybe if Obama coolly and calmly gives the ditto king enough rope he'll hang himself.

Yep. Obama baited him and Limbaugh took it hook, line, and stinker. He is divided the GOP btwn those who are scared of Limbaugh and thus will follow him = moder repubs and independents flee to Obama v. those who want to work with Obama = Obama gets more votes and alienates the right.

Win-Win Obama. The GOP does well when it marches in lock-step, but like a divided house, it cannot stand when you have 2 or 3 competing voices for control.

Right up there with Coolidge, who did such a great job with the economy in the 20s, and Genghis Ron Raygun, for his debt reduction in the 80s. Yeah, surrre.

Freemason agenda? Facetious or do you see one? A friend mine does, but he usually runs out of beer money before he convinces me of anything.

Naw, I think they are now just scrambling to save their jobs. And to continue with the mantra that Bush was a good President just gets in the way of saving their job.

This is as good as those Repubs who will not be running again when their terms are up and so NOW decide that they will vote their conscious rather than their party.

Pathetic, aren't they?

Thom Hartmann, appearing on Olbermann last night, did a good job of defining the root essence of the right wing political miasma. The leaders of the GOP, either members of, or supported by, Wall Street are children of entitlement. They simply do not understand that their values are asynchronous to the middle class; they don't UNDERSTAND why the public would get so upset over the purchase of an executive jet at taxpayer expense, or why the public would expect them to act responsibly and take commercial flights.

Traditionally, the power in this country has been inculcated in the Brahmin Triangle. Ivy League law and business schools have spawned the bankers who not only exploited the system, they helped write the 'regulations' that they would later be able to circumvent. These people subscribe to what is, essentially, a caste system. This is a model that has existed for decades and hoping that the current administration will change the way of doing business could be foohardy. We can give the Obama administration the benefit of the doubt, but we cannot afford to simply hope that things will change.

Demand regulation. Demand accountability. Demand a return on your investment.

This is SOOO TRUE. I played in a band once that got a gig at a fraternity house at PRINCETON. Those Bifs and Barbies, all destined to become the leaders of our nation, were obnoxious spoiled brats born to power and entitlement. They treated us like crap. We were the hired help. They don't understand the concept of limited resources or emergency prioritization. They have never gone without anything they ever wanted, since they were small children.
