Stephen Colbert Calls Out Bill O'Reilly On Rumor-Mongering (VIDEO)

Stephen Colbert called out Bill O'Reilly last night for propping up rumors about Caroline Kennedy by insisting that he wouldn't report on them.

Colbert meshed video from "The O'Reilly Factor" with live commentary to create a fake conversation with Bill-O, not unlike the Coors commercials featuring NFL coaches in post-game press conferences.

"I am pleased to be joined right now, live from last Thursday's 'The O'Reilly Factor' by "The Colbert Report's' Caroline Kennedy correspondent," Colbert said. "Please welcome Bill O'Reilly!"

Colbert then went back and forth in a hilarious faux-exchange with O'Reilly over rumors about Caroline Kennedy.

oh, come on guys. Colbert plays a character, and him and O'Reilly are tongue in cheek with each other, in real life neither man has a personal issue with the other. And Colbert's show is fake, it's like a mockumentary news show, don't take it so seriously. None of what he or Stewart says is supposed to be relevant facts and discourse. It's just your guys version of let's make a deal, the deal is they make lots of money telling you want you want to hear. That's fair, but don't go so far as to use Stewart and Colbert as reliable commentary.

This along with Jon Stewart's declaration of American values through his hand puppet Gitmo show that Colbert and Stewart have the best minds, as well as the very best writers, in the Media.

Interesting how Huff Post misses most of the best thinking on either show.

While Colbert's complete destruction of O Reilly's credibility was excellent, Jon Stewarts hand puppet was something every Red Blooded American should see.
