I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Today on "The View" moderator Whoopi Goldberg brought up how NBC rejected PETA's new commercial for being too racy.

Wanting to discuss the ad, Whoopi was also not allowed to air the spot on ABC. Instead, she took a moment to show viewers what the ad consisted of, bringing out a basket of cabbage and broccoli and showing it her love.

Now there's a good reason to wash those veggies before you eat them.

Whoopi's version was a lot better because it didn't have the headbanging music to go along with it...

I just might not kill an animal today...

Well, it can be argued that The View has a slightly more sophisticated audience than the Superbowl... :)

Not by much, but still an improvement over football fans who only understand three things: food, sport and s.ex... :)

The USA is HARDLY puritanical [contrary to what 'Donnie' claims] Lol!

Some seperate people may be, but as a whole
that is far from the truth.

Most Americans are nowhere near virgins when their married
and premarital sex is the norm.

Sex is everywhere on the tv and there is tons of teenage pregnancy...
where are YOU living?

"The USA is HARDLY puritanical"

I believe the USA is more HYPOCRITICAL than puritanical.
Racy commercials are fine if they advertise beer or food. Think about the 2006 Carl's Jr. campaign, featuring Paris Hilton in a bikini and covered in soap, doing her best imitation of her s.kanky self. NBC had no problems whatsoever broadcasting that, over, and over, and over...
The real irony? If you want to watch that on Youtube, you need to be 18...

What is the executive office phone numbers for GE, NBC and the NFL so that I can let them know I am boycotting ALL of their products.

Are u going to boycott ABC too? Whoopi just said they wouldn't air it either. Have u seen the ad? Is this the direction TV advertising should take, or do we just let it slide for organisations we deem worthy?

If this was an ad from the Association of American Crop Farmers instead of Peta would you think it was okay to screen?

Guess who's coming to dinner? Leviticus!

And lo! If a woman lie with a vegetable as with mankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Joy and Whoopie are the only reasons to watch The View. This has nothing to do with race-it is about INTELLIGENCE!

If God didn't intend for us to eat animals, why did he make them so delicious? Besides, even He liked a good BBQ. (See old testament).

According to cannibals, human flesh is delicious too. Maybe you should try that...
BTW, an easier explanation is that there is no fairy in the sky... At least that's what Occam's Razor would rule...

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:54 PM on 01/28/2009

Occam's Razor would also follow Darwin, and declare that until my eyeteeth are gone, I'm still an omnivore.

Who cares about your fairy in the sky? I'm tallking about God. He loved it when men would sacrifice animals to him. As for cannibals, how many do you know?

I don't believe for a second that it was banned for being overly sexy. I saw the original video and it was no worse than what you might see in a Victoria's Secret commercial.

Umm, yes, it was banned. It was on the news yesterday. Banned frmo the Super Bowl ads, anyway...

Your're closing in on it. PETA wanted NBC to ban the ad and I wouldn't be half surprized if behind the scenes they asked NBC to refuse it.

A thirty second Super Bowl Ad costs three million dollars this year. PETA isn't loaded with that kind of cash but they do have a real knack for using naked people in publicity stunts.

And wow, have they gotten buzz from the 'banned Super Bowl Ad' scheme.

another thought since it is the Superbowl ---

What happens to NBC if The Boss flashes his nipple during halftime?
