Obama's Security Alarms Some VIP Donors

Downtown Washington resembled a militarized zone last week for the inauguration of President Barack Obama, but some major contributors who had direct contact with Obama said they were surprised to find what they viewed as porous security surrounding the president-elect and vice president-elect.

Three contributors who raised $300,000 or more for the inauguration said they were never asked to show identification to retrieve dozens of tickets, including VIP passes that allowed them and their guests to meet privately with Obama. One of the three said ticket checks were so lax that no one noticed when, after a breakfast for contributors, a friend whose name hadn't been submitted for a background check tagged along into a VIP room to take pictures with Vice President-elect Joseph Biden.

I could not believe the Secret Service didn't get anywhere near the President and Mrs Obama when they got out and walked the parade route. It was like they didn't want to get too close, in case something happened. I do not trust the Secret Service and I would question their willingness and loyalty to the office of the President. It's the bad feeling in the pit of my stomach telling me a conspiracy is a brewin'. I pray daily for his safety. They need to get with the program. Their job is to protect the President and from what I saw, they are not doing their job. God watch over the First Family.

Dearest Sadiegirl, Over 2 million people were there. Nobody tried anything. Nobody got hurt. It appears the secret service was "with the program". They did their job and did it very well. There is no reason for bad feelings in the pit of your stomach. Quit worrying so much and live your life. security was loose at the inauguration ceremony as well (at least in the silver section)....i can't believe they didn't make anyone go through a metal detector...and my pat down was like "eh...we know you're not gonna do anything...go ahead..."

If the donors are complaining, but nobody else (particularly in government) is, then what are the donors complaining about? They feel they need to have more security than Obama or something? They are there to protect him, not them.

You didn't read the article!! They were concerned that there was not good security to PROTECT President Obama and Vice President Biden!! They were concerned because when they entered certain events, and others who were not previously checked tagged along, nobody checked them!! Try reading the article before you make a comment.
