Octuplets Conceived Through IVF, Mom Recently Declared Bankruptcy, Possible Sperm Donor

What we learned is that her whole neighborhood is buzzing about the possibility that the 33-year-old mother used the same sperm donor to conceive the octuplets AND her other six children.

In an exclusive interview with momlogic one neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, revealed that the very pregnant young mom was THE hot topic of conversation at the neighborhood Christmas party. He says "From what I heard she likes kids, she wants a jillion kids. She even lied to the doctors who impregnated her."

When asked if he knew who the father of the baby is, the neighbor said, "She is single. She used a sperm donor, someone she knew, who donated sperm a long time ago. He donated the sperm for the first six kids and she used his frozen sperm for these one."

More news about the mother of the octuplets born in California. She was recently bankrupt and conceived through IVF. The mother is in her mid-30s, and as the world learned Thursday, already had six older children. Her name has not been released.

She lives with her parents in a 2-3 bedroom house, and a year-and-a-half ago the family declared bankruptcy and abandoned another home. She conceived the babies through IVF, which doesn't normally transfer more than 2 embryos, and all eight embryos took.

There is no mention or information about the babies' father or where she got the fertility treatment. When she arrived at the hospital where she gave birth for prenatal treatment, she was already 3 months pregnant.

The babies grandfather is reportedly going back to Iraq to earn money for the doubled family.

I am not an expert in IVF. Some people say the maximum of two embryos should be implanted in order for the procedure to be successful and others say more. In my opinion this is not the case at all here. The first thing that should be questioned is what kind of clinic or doctor would let this happen at all. I mean, let a divorced woman in an unstable financial situation that already has six kids be a candidate for IVF. Something is very wrong with this picture. I understand that there is an ethical position that doctors need to take. They can’t just deny treatment based on a persons financial situation, but then how did she pay for the IVF anyways? Perhaps she is the victim of a crazy unethical clinic or a crazy unethical clinic trying to do some new experiment. I say this because it is unbelievable that all of the babies actually survived so far.

The facts as they stand right now as we know them:

I'm surprised someone on this blog mentioned that by discussing this situation people are "cackling". As we all feel the pressures of the economy grinding to a halt, we should all think about the people we know who had four or more children when we were growing up. Those children are today's bankers, auto workers, caterers, public servants, actors, photographers and educators who are struggling to remain employed. If we all had less children there would be less pressure on the economy, more jobs and a better quality of life.

We should all look into adoption.

Its the fact that she is unmarried, already has six children, and lives with her parents.

I have no issues with married couples seeking fertility treatments. I don't even have a problem with a single woman seeking treatments for the possibility of having one child.

This woman had 6 already. And she wasn't happy with that. To me that means she is mentally ill.

If she had had 14 babies naturally, they would have been spaced out over 14 years and she would have had more time to rear them properly and the older kids would be able to help out with the younger ones.

My grandmother was one of 13 kids, 11 of whom lived past infancy. This is how it was done in the day, but you don't go out and have even one kid implanted, let alone 6, which then turn into 8, when you haven't even raised up the ones you have.

She chose to bring these children into the world knowing she could not afford them and now expects the rest of us to be thrilled and pay her way. I may not agree with the war put as long as our goverment choses to put our soilders there I agree with giving them what they need to be safe and come home. These soilders did not make the decision to be there.

Sorry but this totally irresponsible. If you want children, at least have the means to not only support them but raise them in a stable home. This woman clearly has a mental issue but yet people are praising her for breeding just for the fun of it. Do you not think some of these children will be neglected? How unfair is it that the grandparents, who should be enjoying their old age, are now forced to care for these kids. Will she now be on public assistance? What about the doctor who did this? It's unethical and downright stupid.

If you are talking about the Duggars, that is not true. They actually live debt free, paid for their house in cash from what i understand. I'm pretty sure the cash was earned before they became TV personalities. I don't think there is any comparison. The parents are married, they support themselves, homeschool the kids. They actually have a routine that allows them to have an orderly household and well behaved kids who help out in the household. They live frugally. Plus, the Duggar woman didn't have the children in litters!
The Duggar lifestyle is not for me or most people. But they seem to be doing great job and not living off the taxpayers. The Suleman woman is entirely different.

This is where the Gov't is wrong. They enable unwed women to have babies
because they pay for them. The more you have, the more benefits you get.

This should be changed to give benefits to married parents and then maybe there
wouldn't be so many unwed mothers who keep contact with the donor fathers.
Most of them live together and don't get married so they can collect gov't benefits.

Hopefully, the 14 children won't have to suffer because of parent's ignorance.
