I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Everyone knows by now that former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is no stranger to profanity, but it's still amusing to see him respond to messing up on a promo for CNN's "D.L. Hughley Breaks The News" show by telling the host, "I fucked it up...Oh shit - they're going to throw me out anyway, who cares!"

It was touching to see D.L. Hughley stick up for the governor in such an extreme and passionate way. A lot of people are really starting to like Blagojevich.

I watched the show with an open mind, but I think the most impressive stuff came from DL Hughley himself. He had a much larger grasp on politics and the legal system than I would have expected from someone being labelled as simply "a comedian". I plan on watching his show alot more. Informative and funny at the same time.

In this country, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Blago doesn't get to have that basic right. Fitzgerald spent millions of dollars going after the person who outted Valerie Plame (Cheney/Rove) and nobody went to jail. They used Libby as a scapegoat and Bush commuted his sentence. So why is Fitzgerald this great super detective? The media let you believe that.

Now Fitzgerald comes out with a cut up tape and says it is Blago trying to sell a senate seat. Now why on earth do you think a state's attorney show the general public his "evidence" long before he is even ready to prosecute his case? Because his evidence is JUNK. It's like the state of California showing the media the glove, bloodstains, etc. for the OJ trial, BEFORE the indictment even came down. It just doesn't happen! His evidence is NO GOOD and can't be used in a trial against Blago. The State's Attorney tainted the jury pool and Blago can't possibly get a fair trial because people JUST LIKE YOU have already formed an opinion. Your "opinion" was given to you by the media but you don't seem to realize it yet.

In this day and age, people need to always listen to both sides of the story, because the justice system has been broken for many years and innocent people have been executed by this same system. Why do we all let the media tell us what/how to think?

Excellent post, and I still am willing to bet that Fitzgerald quietly drops charges in a couple of weeks. He rushed the judgement to get Blago outed. It was done for political purposes only. If he really had wanted to nail Blago to the wall and put him in prison, he would have let Blago go ahead and sell the seat.

As it was, Blago was impeached instead for buying prescription drugs from Canada to lessen the burden on senior citizens and probably pissing off some legislators whose kids work for Big Pharma.

It was a political hitjob, pure and simple.

It must be hard trying to find a new job since Blaggo got canned, isn't it??

Are you deaf?? Have you heard the tapes?? What is your explanation?

I don't have any sympathy for the man, but it isn't hard to imagine how he charmed his way to power. The strange thing is that even though he is clearly a manipulative, narcissistic crook, I can't help but like him a little bit.

Throw the slick son of a b**** in jail.

It's weird that he can still laugh it up when his career is over and he's probably heading to prison.

Just weird.

I'm sure I'll like him better in the movie. Always scheming, I'm sure that a lot of this show he's put on was to spice up the upcoming movie. He never stops hustling.

I do. He's a straight street soldier who doesn't give a sh*t who doesn't like it. He threw pie in the face of Congress, and didn't bow down to the state legislators (who impeached him without an ounce of evidence), and who will beat Fitzgerald in the end.

This guy is not stupid. He was a state's attorney, a congressman, a governor, and one other position that I foget, so he's not at all stupid.

"Different doesn't mean bad, just different!" He's wild and colorful, but that's why I like him. I like the fact that none of the other politicians like him. Doesn't that make him like the rest of us? LOL!

While the powers to be would not allow Blago to bring any witnesses to his impeachment I do believe the trial will be a different story. The outcome may be the same, but our man Blago may have the last laugh in who he takes down with him. Go Blago.

I'm sorry but I LOVE THIS F---KING GUY!!!!!!

I just do... "they're going to throw me out anyway who cares!"

It's SOOO true! LMAO

I actually admire him for basically saying, "well F---k you too" to the legislature. People expected him to just bend over grab his ankles and take it but he pretty much wen out as best as he could on the best terms possible for his situation.

If he had done something other politicians didnt do then I'd be quicker to judge. But if this guy gets impeached then we may as well have a complete overhaul of government in general.

Did you like, hibernate for a couple of days or something?
After his media bravado, your guy Blago went back to the Senate and practically got on his knees to beg to keep his job. Of course it was too late, and he has been impeached. You missed a whole lotta news apparently.

He didn't beg them. He told them what they are doing wrong and what he didn't do wrong. He went on to tell them how they act badly and how they shouldn't play politics, etc. He was not begging, and I read many sources daily for my news, including the whacked out, biased news shows that ALL tried to paint him with their own brush.

They impeached him because he didn't play their game. They also used the snippets from Fitzgerald to say he was going to sell the senate seat. What state attorney shows his "evidence" to the public before the actual case? He gave them the tapes because he can't use it because it's JUNK.

Look up the articles of impeachment so you'll know what you're talking about.

Right. Notice he showed up and gave a statement when he didn't have to be under oath and begged for his job. It was quite sad to watch him prop himself up on the backs of seniors and the poor. If he was worried about health care, why did he scam a hospital for campaign $ before he would give them $ for expansion?

Because it was all about him (and his wife). Good riddance!

I'm with you all the way. I love Blago for his gumption! It's been a long, long time since I've seen any politician actually say what they are truly thinking, with the exception of VP Joe Biden (my #1 fav for many, many years now).

With his history in law, I bet he has a plan to win his case, which is why he continues to insist, "I.did.nothing.illegal."

There is this case that just ended in another state for the Sheriff (an elected position) with basically the same charges. The sheriff actually beat most of the charges and probably won't go to jail. It can be beat, ESPECIALLY if you've got the law on your side.

Gov Blago is corrupt and doesn't care who knows it. After all, isn't that the way of Illinois politics? So why and how is he so different? Obama? He was an aberration!
