Hilary Duff Slams Faye Dunaway's Looks (VIDEO)

Hilary Duff has hit out at Faye Dunaway's looks in an interview with E! News. The fracas began when a remake of "Bonnie and Clyde" was announced, starring Duff, 21.


Dunaway, 68, who starred with Warren Beatty in the 1967 original, was quoted in the Chicago Sun-Times January 28th as having said, "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?"


Now Duff, asked by E! about Dunaway's supposed comments, has responded by insulting her appearance.


"I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is, so you know, uh, I think it was a little unnecessary but I might be mad if I looked like that now too."

Sadly, its this clip alone that justifies Dunaway's comments. Was Dunaway unfounded in her criticsm? Not entirely, considering this was the role that made her career, its understandable that she would be protective of the original. However, obviously Hilary Duff is not an actress, simply based on her response. She comes off as a smug child ("My fans probably have no idea who she is") and that agist slam against Faye's looks? Yikes. For a 69 year old woman, I'd say she looks pretty good. Duff has been trying to sculpt a new career for herself for the last couple years to be considered an actress over a singer. War, Inc. was framed as her being not 'Hillary Duff' anymore, meaning instead of being a marketable commodity to sell key chains and cheap jewelry she was going to 'act'. Looks like she just made a big mistake. She's right, her 'fans' may not know who Faye Dunaway is, however, every working professional in the business knows who she is, and not only respects her but admires her. My guess is that Hillary Duff just closed quite a few doors for herself in the future. And Bonnie and Clyde will probably not ever happen. Good Move! For all of us who hate entitled young idiot actresses this was a day for long term victory.

Why are they remaking "Bonnie and Clyde?" That movie is perfect the way it is, with stellar performances by Beatty, Dunaway and the rest of the cast.

Hollywood wouldn't know original material if it hit it in the head. Frankly, I'm pretty tired of the remakes. They add nothing.

If they have to do a remake of this there's one woman perfect for the role who's not only gorgeous but can really act--Charlize Theron. Heath Ledger would have been terrific as Clyde but ...so maybe Brad Pitt. He'd do well in the role. He did a splendid job in that Jesse James film. beautifully.
