I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Hilary Duff has hit out at Faye Dunaway's looks in an interview with E! News. The fracas began when a remake of "Bonnie and Clyde" was announced, starring Duff, 21.

Dunaway, 68, who starred with Warren Beatty in the 1967 original, was quoted in the Chicago Sun-Times January 28th as having said, "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?"

Now Duff, asked by E! about Dunaway's supposed comments, has responded by insulting her appearance.

"I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is, so you know, uh, I think it was a little unnecessary but I might be mad if I looked like that now too."

Faye Dunaway starred in two of the greatest films of all time, Bonnie & Clyde and Chinatown. All I know abou Hillary Duff is her sister was in Napoleon Dynamite. I saw Bonnie & Clyde two weeks after it came out and agree there are certain movies that shouldn't be remade and there are others including Bonnie & Clyde that can't be remade.

She was simply stating the obvious. Deal with it.

Having seen Faye Dunaway in the Three Musketeers during a pivotal part of my adolescence I shall always love her. Hilary Duff just doesn't compare.

But even tho' I'm on Team Dunaway even I have to acknowledge that she started it by saying "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?" This was a direct insult and Duff responded in kind.

And Duff will continue since she has a movie to promote...

Dunaway has had an enviable career by any standard.

Hillary Duf is a pop-tart. She should stop the caterwauling and just bring it to the screen.

Dunaway's Bonnie & Clyde remains a film classic. Duff's Bonnie & Clyde will likely see a quick DVD release as it ends up on the $10 rack at Walmart.

Hilary isn't all that cute now, so as she ages she will look worse. She is a terrible actress,no one goes and sees any movie she is in anyway.

And of course 10 year olds do not know who Faye is, but that doesn't say much about your fan circle!

Too right. Duff is not now, nor has she ever been, as hot as Dunaway was then. Duff will be lucky to age half as well as Dunaway has.

Duff had better practice her acting. She's not getting any prettier.

Unfortunate, and unseemly cat fight.

Ms. Dunaway was nominated for an Oscar for her version of Bonnie Parker. She was typecast as the "blond pretty" girl, a casting she struggled against for decades, in a Hollywood that didn't give her much in the way of options. I don't believe this, or her role in the "Towering Inferno" were her finest. Better by far were her interpretations of Milady DeWinter in the Three Musketeers and of Eva Peron in the movie by the same name. According to the IMDB database, she has 104 separate credits to her name.

Ms. Duff has some 26 roles to her name. She is, of course, much younger. Reportedly, she dished it back, with a vengeance. "I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is," she told E! News. "I think it was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now, too."

Younger doesn't necessarily mean better, and to Ms. Duff, I commend the following from an Irish tombstone

"As you are now, so once was I. As I am now so shall you be."

Faye Dunaway was once a great and very serious actress. However, in my opinion, women who carve their faces into (horrifying) caricatures of themselves can no longer be taken seriously in acting, and leave themselves open to snippy remarks from young pipsqueaks.

Dunaway's always been thin. She can't
help it if her face is thin.

Duff has had plenty of plastic surgery too and, as an actress, she's not even in the same universe as Dunaway. What a brat!

OK.

First of all some classics should not be remade, like "All about Eve" or "Casablanca" or "Gone with the Wind"
It is impossible to recapture the original inspiration, or artistry. Why would anyone sell the rights to a great film like that to people who would cast Brittany Spears in it.

Oh my God. It is sad. And something else. Miss Duff is a cute girl, but Faye Dunaway was 10,000 times more beautiful when she was the same age. Seriously more beautiful.
And she is a great actor. Unlike Miss Duff.

This is like casting Brittany Spears in "Camille" or "Madame Curie" or "Anna Karenina"
I bet they don't even know where that reference comes from.

We are living in a doomed culture.

Why is anyone surprised when two divas collide? They're both petty, snide, and bitchy.

Hillary Duff is hardly deserving of the title...Diva. She barely deserves the title of actress.

Ms. Duff should hold that thought for about 46 years, when she will be Ms. Dunaway's age, but with a predictably less successful career. There is nothing in Ms. Duffs work which shows even a glimmer of Ms. Dunaway's phenomenal Oscar winning talent. Besides, that, Ms. Dunaway is quite sexy for a woman her age and has always been fascinating in every role. Not something that can be said about you, dear.

Age is not kind to bimbos, sweetie. This comment will haunt you for ever, assuming your tiny brain can retain the memory. When you are sixty-seven, and struggling to live on your social security check, may you always remember the day you pissed on a great actress.
