I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Hilary Duff has hit out at Faye Dunaway's looks in an interview with E! News. The fracas began when a remake of "Bonnie and Clyde" was announced, starring Duff, 21.

Dunaway, 68, who starred with Warren Beatty in the 1967 original, was quoted in the Chicago Sun-Times January 28th as having said, "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?"

Now Duff, asked by E! about Dunaway's supposed comments, has responded by insulting her appearance.

"I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is, so you know, uh, I think it was a little unnecessary but I might be mad if I looked like that now too."

Mandy Moore must've been unavailable.

Say what you will, but Moore is probably too smart to take the role.

Classless on both their parts. Nobody wins. Dunaway deserves to be treated with deference, but should likewise be smarter and have more grace than this.

Hillary Duff is an actress? For real? I thought she was a mouseketeer or something.

Good one.

Ms. Dunaway's comments reeked of arrogance, pride, and jealousy. I would expect more from a Hollywood legend. She does not have ownership of the character Bonnie Parker and should not expect that her betrayal be forever considered the untouchable standard.

HIllary Duff's response, while understandable, is not befit a person desirous of more respect among the Hollywood community. It's too bad she couldn't take the high road and let her performance speak for itself. Now the media will jump all over the chance to hype up this inter-generational "cat-fight."

Ms. Dunaway is neither arrogant, proud nor jealous when it comes to her response to the remake of this film. Aside from being an accomplished actress she was part of what made this movie famous and successful. Anyone would be surprised if a nothing actress like Duff got such a stellar part. If Duff carries it off then let Ms. Dunaway eat crow or whatever. But meantime it's her movie that's being "f--cked" with. It's not a question of her owning the role but being an intrinsic part of the spirit of the movie.( By the way the word is portrayal not betrayal.) She didn't say she minded the remake it was the choice of Duff as Bonnie. Hey at her point in life she can be allowed a little leeway. Duff on the other hand should learn to play on the same level ground. In Twitt vs Diva we all know who wins.

I don't know what response you're referring to, but it sure ain't Faye's response to Hillary Duff being cast as Bonnie Parker. Faye Dunaway's comments reek of nothing BUT arrogance. Faye has every right to be "surprised" that Hillary Duff would get the part, but that's totally different than sounding childish and resentful. And it's not Faye Dunaway's movie, unless you can show me how she managed to play every character while also Directing, Editing, Writing, and handling every other aspect of the film. That's the whole problem here, she's too possessive about the story of Bonnie and Clyde. She made one movie, not the only movie I may add, about the couple. Time for her to move on from a film that she made decades ago.

The original Bonnie & Clyde is a superb movie, with great acting. I've seen several of Faye Dunnaway's movies and she is one of Hollywood's great talents. I can't believe they would cast Hillary Duff to remake Dunnaway's role, thus ruining the memory of the original. I've seen Hillary Duff in movies, no way should she be playing Bonnie, and her remark is extremely childish. If I were Faye I might have made the same comment. It's almost insulting to think so little of the original movie/actors as to cast someone of Hillary's acting ability to play her role.

So your fans don't know Faye Dunaway? (Why am I not surpriced!)
That says nothing about Faye, but a lot about your fans.

BTW: your look will disappear, but what will you have achieved when you are as old as Faye?
Until now it's just a little acting not worth to mention and some really terrible songs (like this cruel abuse of a Depeche Mode-song!).

We can all agree that Hillary's acting repertoire does not rival that of Faye's. However, the basic issue is that Ms. Dunway insulted Hillary in the first place. Hillary does have a right to say what she wants. Should she just get insulted and not say anything because of Faye Dunaway. Give me a break! Hillary Duff's is not that bad of an actress. Actresses come a dime a dozen, many are just lucky to get good scripts. We should not knock someone for trying to advance their craft, and especially Ms. Dunway who instead of dishing out mean comments about a young woman should instead be more encouraging of Hillary. If she's that bad, give the girl some pointers.

I've seen Hillary Duff "act"....she leaves a lot to be desired! She couldn't act her self out of wet paper bag.

Faye Dunaway is a class act. She has won an Oscar and numerous Golden Globe Awards.

Hillary should take acting lessons from Faye!

My 8 year old daughter likes Hillary Duff and her hit song " Wake Up" which she is always singing. I am also just old enough to remember the many many wonderful movies Faye Dunaway made and I have enyoyed.

Let' s see now Faye Dunaway made 68 movies, nominated for an acadamy award 3 times, won once, nominated for golden globes 5 times. Quite a career.

But then Hillary Duffy made "Foodfight", so I guess she is the better actress.

Wake up honey, you've got a ways to go.

With lightweight Hilary in the role, the remake should be titled "Bunny and Clyde".

Youth sometimes makes us think we know it all...lets see what she looks like when she is Dunaways' age and lets see if she is as rude then...

My Mother always said if you have noting nice to say...then don't say it.
