Palin Endorses Texas Gov. Perry Over Female Challenger

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has endorsed Rick Perry for re-election, calling him the "true conservative" in a primary election showdown with fellow Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Palin, who electrified the GOP base as the party's vice presidential nominee last year, has strong support among the party's social conservatives. Her endorsement appeared aimed at undercutting Hutchison's appeal with GOP women. Both groups will be important in picking the party's nominee in next year's GOP primary.

I wouldn't want to be Perry about now. He just put a tar get on his back by the DNC and it should be fairly simple by just linking Him to her and all her. As a Texan, I wish she would stay out of our state business. On the other hand, maybe her
endorsement will hurt Perry and help Hutchison. Perry is one of the worst governors that we've had. He stands right up there with Bush.

The election and re-election of Rick Perry was one of the deciding factors for my leaving my home state of Texas. To me, Perry is a clone of George W. Bush, except with the added feature of profound arrogance. I once saw a filmclip of his being stopped on a state highway by a police officer for a traffic violation. He told the female cop, "Don't you know who I am?" He then re-entered his vehicle and drove off, leaving the policewoman standing in the roadway.

Hutchinson is another Republican woman manniken, but she is a vast improvement over Perry. Of course, no Democratic challenger will ever win in Texas, which is about 75% conservative and keeps electing state and national figures that do not serve their best interests. Perhaps the Texas electorate will connect the dots and recognize what neo-cons have done to them when the state economy begins to tank.

Yet another week out of the offices in Alaska.

I fully expect to see Sarah Palin for a long time to come.
Having her picture in the dictionary next to the definition of "hypocrite" is a sure bet these days.
