Limbaugh's Traffic Spiked With Obama's Win, Inauguration

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh's website saw a spike in traffic apparently brought on by President Obama's election victory.

Limbaugh's traffic nearly doubled briefly in early November when Obama took the White House, according to data from Alexa.com, a site that tracks web traffic for individual sites as a percent of total Internet traffic. Quantcast.com, a similar site, shows a less drastic bump, with around 200,000 more people visiting Limbaugh's site once Obama won according to its estimate.

Rush is all hype and no substance. The low poll numbers are not shocking at all. If he had so much power and influence in the party, then why did the republicans lose the election. President Obama supporters outnumbered Rush supporters by huge numbers. There are not enough old white people, tooty frooty koolaid drinkers, kkk members and uneducated rural americans to win an election anymore. Get over it and more on! You can't even find one sensible person to represent the party. The fact that you strongly supported Bush and Cheney speaks volumes about the republican party.

Obama won not because conservatives voted for him but because liberals stopped by spineless, wuss3s and decided to go out and vote and let their opinions be heard. The GOP is still strong and large in numbers. Quite Frankly, they outnumber us. Ignorance is easier to embrace than reason, which is why so many people listen to Rush. Fact is if we don't do everything in our power to stop people like Palin for increasing her star power we could be on the verve of witnessing the demise of this country we love so much. I must really admire Rush's ability for self promotion. The nation has a new president and all anybody can talk about is a pompous blowhard who hasn't had a new idea since the Reagan Administration.

So at precisely the point in time when the Republican party should be rethinking their position in the political landscape after a stunning loss they have put forth a radio talk show host as their de-facto leader and cater to his 16 million listeners as their base. Sixteen million is a lot of radio listeners, but compared to the entire voting population of the US it is tiny...and shrinking.

Listen up Repubs...Limbaugh will never give you the White House, or flip a single Senate seat.

So far the narrative of this administration has been Obama reaching out to Republicans, who slap it away in the hopes of being able to say I told you so if it fails. That is not a compelling narrative to anybody beyond the dittoheads.

You're so right. But Sean Insannity's callers are even worse. It makes me want to pu ke when Insannity and his bleating sheep callers repeatedly stroke each other with that "you're a great American" line. I listen to these f ools in my car occasionally if only for the sheer comedy and to look into the minds of the ReTHUG base that we're facing out there. It's NOT pretty what I am hearing. These sheeple ReTHUGs have no sense of individual thought or common reality at all. On occasion yes, but certainly more intelligent than the voters interviewed outside the voting booths who thought Palin was running with Obama and didnt know who any of the key Dems were. And more intelligent than the voters that Stern talked to pre election.

The Ku Klux Klan started after the Civil War with a group of white Southerners who were very angry when the war ended. They were angry because the Blacks had won their freedom from slavery and they had lost their slaves. No more slavery meant their lives had changed and they felt threatened.

The Klan is Created

The boredom of a small-town life made six young Confederate veterans from the south gather around a fireplace one night, where they thought of a secret group. They made the group to occupy themselves and to get revenge on the many Blacks that had won their freedom in the Civil War. The group wanted to torture former slaves, because the slaves had won their freedom. The Klan members felt threatened because they thought the Blacks would start to get more powerful. In addition, many Klan members were angry because they lost their slaves.

The head of the group was called the Grand Cyclops and everyone else was called a Ghoul. The name of the group was hard to decide. One man, Richard R. Reed, suggested the word kuklos, meaning circle and cycle. Then Captain John B. Kennedy, who had an ear for alliteration (words starting with the same sound), added the word Clan. After some tinkering the group came up with the name Ku Klux Klan.
