Former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove "won't comply" with congressional subpoenas, according to a newspaper report of an event held in Los Angeles earlier this week.

Rove spoke Tuesday evening at Loyola Marymount University, a Jesuit institution in Los Angeles, as part of the school's "First Amendment Week."

Excerpt from a recent Raw Story article...

O b a m a, not B u s h, now seeking delay of R o v e deposition

In a court brief quietly filed Monday, Michael Hertz, O b a m a ' s acting assistant attorney general, said it was necessary to delay an effort to force R o v e to be deposed in a congressional investigation into the firing of nine US Attorneys and the alleged political prosecution of a former Alabama governor.

Hertz said an effort was underway to find a "compromise" for R o v e, and requested two weeks to broker a deal before proceeding in court.

"The president is very sympathetic to those who want to find out what happened," Craig told The Washington Post. "But he is also mindful as president of the United States not to do anything that would undermine or weaken the institution of the presidency. So, for that reason, he is urging both sides of this to settle."

The same sneaky stuff from Bush, Rove, Fielding and probably Cheney as well. Bush, Cheney and Company offered themselves as real stand up guys. In fact, they were a secretive bunch of twerps. There wasn't an ounce of honor amongst them.

Being a commoner I would have already been locked up if I had just said the words "I will not". Congress has shown their true colors. Just getting their pockets padded with lobbyist money. What a bunch of spineless, sad, selfish, scard, out of touch A@$HOLES.

Sadly, arresting this man would not cause any immediate action. There would have to be court cases/hearings/legislative action so that the executive privilege of past presidents does not extend into later administrations. Only then would he come to answer questions, or face legal punishment.

The only good thing about this is that this is a legal loophole that is transparent in its use: to prevent the truth from being known. And in this case, the evidence gives strength to the argument that these men have done something either unethical or illegal.

One would hope that this would only expedite our actions against them as we continue our search for truth and justice in all things that are common to our fellow citizens.

Actually, there would be immediate action. He would be cooling his heels in jail until he decided to comply with the subpoena. He would be arrested for contempt of Congress . . . the court cases regarding executive privilege are a different subject. If you are subpoenaed by Congress, you have to appear . . . that's when you make the objections to the questions.

This guy needs to be reminded that his benefactors no longer hold the reigns of power.

Arrest him and throw his butt in jail. Congress has the power to do so . . . DO IT.
