Christian Bale Apologizes For "Inexcusable" Rant

LOS ANGELES — Christian Bale says he acted like a "punk" and that his profane tongue-lashing on the set of "Terminator Salvation" was inexcusable.

In Friday remarks on a Los Angeles morning radio show, Bale said he never intended to get physical with cinematographer Shane Hurlbut. He also said he was likely channeling too much of his character, John Conner.

Bale also told the "Kevin and Bean" show on KROQ 106.7 that he and Hurlbut reconciled and worked together for another month following the tirade.

The outburst, which occurred last year on the set in New Mexico, was posted this week on the celebrity gossip site TMZ. It has become an Internet sensation, inspiring a music remix, spoofs, and punch lines for the "Kevin and Bean" show.

Instead of giving Christian Bale another shot, lets give someone else a first shot. We over value celebrity in our society. There are plenty of talented actors who never got their first chance, lets kick Mr. Bale to the end of the line and give some of those others a shot.

There was a guy who worked on the set on the radio the other day and he said the guy Christian was yelling at was a jerk. Most of the people on the set didn't like him that much.

That person was right. Shane is a loud mouth and a billy and deserved what he got. Sahne never hesitated to yell at those working beneath him (especially if they were smaller) and if you think that was the first time he heard that type of language you're only fooling yourself.

People clawing over each other just to be first with not much really to say. A sad state of affairs. Be angry at injustice, rant at the state of poverty in America...­but this? I like christian Bale. His rant was over the top, no question about it, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. As for the assault on his mom and sister, from what I understand, they were saying mean things about his wife, and he pushed past them as he walked out. Not okay, but certainly forgivable. We all get angry sometimes.

I'm sure if you were standing there being eviscerated and threatened with physical violence you would be as forgiving.

The fact that he berated the guy in public seemed like bullying to me. Also the fact that he couldn't seem to let it go once it was over (It happened, it's over!) was kind of disturbing in a man his age. So in conclusion I wouldn't get into a serious relationship with him, but I probably would still lick him given the chance. :0)

What I gathered from the article, Bale apologized and the two worked together for another month.

As others have already said, if the offended party has accepted an apology, it's done.
