I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Sometimes I think Glenn Beck is saying the crazy things he does just to get attention from liberals for being so crazy. It's the Ann Coulter model of right-wing punditry: the more outrageous the better for your ratings.

But Beck isn't as smart as Coulter. He's also more of a Bircherite populist, and he's convinced himself that the more mawkish the better he'll appeal to that sensibility. Unfortunately for Beck, he is also handicapped by not having a very firm grip on reality in the first place (not that this ever stopped other right-wing millionaire pundits). It shows up in his great fondness for right-wing populist conspiracy theories.

Not surprising that a Boomer (Gore) would suggest that kids rebel against their parents. That was the approach of the entire generation - knock down the institutions built by their parents (the GI Generation).
This is very much part of the battle that will unfold over the next few years as various Boomers try to convince the Millennials to follow their particular ideology. Asking them to rebel against their parents is unlikely to work (as the Millennials are generally very close to their parents), but that won’t stop Boomers from trying. The reaction of these Gen X parents is very typical as we tend to be a fairly over-protective bunch and don’t want representatives of institutions telling us how to parent.
For more on why these generations clash, including further commentary on this incident, see my blog at http://www.thegenxfiles.com

And a lobotomy - Coulter is evil, but intelligent with a calculating mind. The only calculating Beck does involves counting on his fingers and toes. The man can't count to 21 unless he's naked.

Talk about another guy a few sandwiches short of a picnic.. Beck, Hannity, Gibson, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Cheney and Rummy should all be marooned on an island together and spare us their nuttiness.

This twerpy little guy reminds me of a kid who got hit by a pitch, followed by three walks and scored the winning run. He thinks his batting average is 1000.

Beck needs to spend his time in AA meetings and Mormon church services, with those odd belief systems that suit is personality and character.

No credibility.

Man, right-wingers NEVER get tired of projecting onto Democats.
Maybe Beck should be talking about Bush's fan cult?

When you pull out the Hitler analogy, you are immediately indicating you have no real argument to use

Beck is a D.J who never went to college, and he now is some kind of a expert on serious issues.

Well, at least Rush went to college...Southeast Missouri State College, the lowest standards of any state school in the mid-west. You only had to have a 2.5 average and they accept 97% of all applicants....I question as to whether he graduate or not...

True story about Rush during college;

I knew C-average HS girls who went to SEMS and told me they were having a party (early 70's) when they saw Rush walk up in his HS letter jacket. The shut the curtains, locked the door, turned down the music, snuffed the "roaches" and pretended no one was there...they let him bang on the door until one of them (who was a little too high) yelled out, "We're not home!"....teeheeeee.....I do you think this makes Rush one up on Beck?

I believe Rush attended for one year, "flunking everything" according to his mother.

Glenn Beck admits to being "self-educated." And yes, Rush attended college for 2 semesters and dropped out, failing every class including modern ballroom dancing.

I listen to Glen Beck on the radio from time to time and lately, mostly all he talks about is..... how great his TV show is doing.... how's his TV show is not getting the attention that Rachel Maddow got when her show first started.....and trashing NBC/MSNBC. Its really getting old fast.

This dunderhead averages at least one baseless, factually incorrect statement a week, yet he continues to get press for his proclamations with most of those reporting failing to print the fact that these statements are outright lies, easily debunked by anyone with access to Google. Does his magic underwear render him immune to reality, or is the mainstream corporate media too lazy and/or incompetent to do their homework?

I think they're all on something. Do you spec. Glenn is drinking again? He looks and act as if he is sneaking something in his coffee. Maybe he's been partying with Rush -the king of forging perscriptions -Oxycotin...maybe.

Bye the way, what's up with the guy on "Redeye"?
