Usher's Wife "Stable" After Surgery In Brazil

NEW YORK — A representative for Usher says the singer's wife, Tameka Raymond, is recovering from surgery in Brazil.

Publicist Simone Smalls says Raymond "is in stable condition after suffering complications from routine surgery in Brazil. Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital."

No further details were provided. In her statement, Smalls says "the family requests privacy at this difficult time."

Raymond was being treated at the posh Sirio-Libanes Hospital in Sao Paulo, a hospital spokeswoman confirmed Monday. She did not give her name, per hospital rules.

Usher was supposed to be one of the performers at music mogul Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party Saturday night, but he had to back out for what Davis called a serious family illness.

The 30-year-old R&B star and his wife were married in August 2007. They have two young sons, 2-year-old Usher Raymond V and 2-month-old Naveid Ely Raymond.

Tamika just gave birth. Too bad she felt she had to have plastic surgery done so soon. I know Michelle Obama suffered during the campaign with Obama too with viscious comments. People need to look at the other spouse and see what they're saying. Usher speaks lovingly of his wife. Stop being a teeny bopper and wishing he were still with Chili, umpteen years ago.

They're just fans who wanted Usher to marry someone else. They must understand that Usher speaks lovingly of his wife and if they like Usher that much, just concentrat­e on him and leave Tamika alone. I know its been hard for her.

Of course there is pressure on her to look good all the time. Heck, I feel the pressure to always be fit being married to a personal trainer, so I cannot even imagine what it must feel like being married to a celebrity.

and she should be-she abandoned her other kids to be with Usher. She will be so messed up soon-it won't matter. But by that time she will have all of Usher's money and that is the way it is. Some women will do anything to get a rich man and although I don't know what all the commotion is about Usher, she obviously got what she wants and he got what he wanted. and the saga continues.

also, why is his wife having plastic surgery only two months after giving birth

No American has a "routine" surgery in Brazil! If it was routine she would have at a hospital in ATL. I guess she is desperate to keep these young women away from her husband. It's sad that she went this far, did she learn nothing from Donda West?

Brazil is known for plastic surgery, but I imagine they live in L.A.--the other place known for plastic surgery. Trying to do it on the cheap or on the sly, obviously.
