Usher's Wife "Stable" After Surgery In Brazil

NEW YORK — A representative for Usher says the singer's wife, Tameka Raymond, is recovering from surgery in Brazil.

Publicist Simone Smalls says Raymond "is in stable condition after suffering complications from routine surgery in Brazil. Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital."

No further details were provided. In her statement, Smalls says "the family requests privacy at this difficult time."

Raymond was being treated at the posh Sirio-Libanes Hospital in Sao Paulo, a hospital spokeswoman confirmed Monday. She did not give her name, per hospital rules.

Usher was supposed to be one of the performers at music mogul Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party Saturday night, but he had to back out for what Davis called a serious family illness.

The 30-year-old R&B star and his wife were married in August 2007. They have two young sons, 2-year-old Usher Raymond V and 2-month-old Naveid Ely Raymond.

Moving a patient is the last thing you want to so …better to take whole team there rather than risk moving her…though don’t let the xenophobia set in here….Braz­il is an extremely competent place to get surgery, particularly Plastic…its just that there are some shady doctors there too who push the
envelope and cut corners.

Usher's career has been in the proverbial toilet since he has been with this "old" woman. I wish them the best, but honestly unless he is a very, very rare "breed" of man; eventually he'll go back to looking at younger women or at least women his own age. LOL is correct. She is about 8 years his senior. He is only 30 and she is almost 40. Five years from now when he is 35 and she is 43, we'll truly see what love has got to do with it. She already looks old for age, and five years from now she'll look even worse. He was better off with Chili who at least looks younger than her age. Even more than her age is the baggage she brings i.e. the three or four other kids. Like I stated previously, I wish them the best, but I truly don't see this relationship lasting more than a few years.

"Routine Surgery" ...uh plastic surgery is not routine. What was at risk ? Her heart ? If not her heart then I can only surmise that the surgery didn't go well and she's disfigured and upset. If it's not her heart from the anesthesia or maybe they found something while they were doing lypo ? A tumor ?

Why should he? It's his family's business, and not ours. I am a fan of both of them and I hate that they felt they had to go to Brazil to get the surgery. I feel for her because she is trying to keep up her looks and body for her much younger husband.
