CPAC: Sarah Palin Pulls Out

I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Via Think Progress comes the news that this years Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) will not feature an appearance from vice presidential candidate and would-be Republican Party standard-bearer Sarah Palin. CPAC officials have been told that Palin's whole being-the-governor-of-Alaska thing will preclude her attendance:

"We're obviously disappointed," said a CPAC official. A spokesman for the three-day confab, organized by the American Conservative Union Foundation and others, said that Palin, the popular former vice presidential nominee, had indicated she would be able to attend but cited "duties of governing" in bowing out.

Palin will send along a "taped message" for CPAC attendees to enjoy. Meanwhile, the responsibility of issuing vapid complaints about the media shall fall to every other CPAC attendee.

"Seems like this day and age to receive a "knight hood" all you have to do is partake in fagotry, and other assorted liberal c r a p. Imagine what those knights 1000 years ago would do if they came back today and seen the type of repulsive sniveling Sh*t heals that carried the title...."

From StormFront. FYI

In 1960, Barack Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, became pregnant by Barack Sr. On February 2, 1961, 3 months pregnant with the future president and at the age of 18, she married Barack Sr. Because he was Muslim, he had already been married in Kenya to another woman, Kezia, who apparently gave him permission to marry Ann Dunham (not uncommon because Islam permits up to 4 wives legally but in Obama's father custom, a second wife is permitted).

Just six months later, on August 4, 1961, Barack Obama Jr. was born.

The marriage was initially opposed to by both the president's parents and the parents of Barack Sr.

I post this to let everyone know that of all the demonization of Sarah and her family, the president himself was born out of even more "controversial" circumstances.

Wikipedia documents this in full and you can read it here:

The President had zero control over the circumstances of his birth. On the other hand, Sarah Palin raised her children and taught them her values - namely, that it is ok to get pregnant out of wedlock, considering she did it herself.

Which part of the difference between these two different situations do you just not understand?

I think she has hired a political strategist who suggested that it would be in her best interest to move away from this group and try to appeal to a broader audience. She can't win by only pandering to the base.

Jason, why don't you do a story on who Palin has workin' for her?

It was my understanding she was invited but never agreed to attend.

I wish SP would not have "pulled out" of her responsibilities as a parent to her pregnant teen daughter.Or her responsibilities as the Governor of Alaska, or as a representative of the people who voted for her, or her obligation to uphold the constitution, or her promise to be honest and upright in her office, or etc........

Palin won't run again for national office, she has burned bridges with CPAC and the Repubs, who she lied to about going to their conference. You can't do that in politics, it's like the old saying what goes around comes around.

You're wrong. Nothing in the world will stop her from attempting a 2012 run. Her ninny supporters will demand it, and she'll be only to happy to oblige them. She's egotistical to the point that she refuses to see her own lack of ability and she craves the spotlight.

Good for us. If I were the duplicitous sort, I'd send her campaign money.

"Conservative Political Action Conference"?

So their wish to have Palin appear is an endorsement of Palin's addition of a tax - a tax subsequently passed down to and paid by all Americans - to oil produced in Alaska for the sole purpose of giving the citizens of Alaska a handout and maintaining a warm-fuzzy with her potential voters?

Wow...conservatives have changed.

Yeah, but there's always the comforting thought that Alaska's economy is based on $70/barrel oil, but now oil is selling for almost half that. I'm not so sure Alaskans will be getting their checks this year.

Ms. Palin does not have the intellectual ability to take a noun and a verb, put them together, and make a coherent sentence!

To those who would support her for higher office, I am sure she has some wonderful qualities at the surface. But if you will open your eyes and use your gray matter, you will see that this is smoke and mirrors. Ms. Palin, IMHO, is the same as those in power who took our country to the brink of disaster! Ultra-conservative, bible thumping, self-righteous, "holier-than-thou" hypocrit!!! Anyone who allows a "witch doctor" to exorcise her and protect her from evil in a church, anyone who hunts defenseless animals from a helicopter, anyone who uses her children as political "props", anyone who uses public office for personal gain.....are these the qualities you want in a leader of this great nation??

C'mon, right-wingers! Wake up! This woman is nothing but an opportunist!

Really? She is on the "right" side of so many issues...

She thinks that global warming is not man-made, that creationism should be taught in schools. Stem-cell research should be banned, and abortion should be illegal even in cases of rape or incest or to save the life of the mother.

So what's not to like?

I only hope that Palin Spice runs for president ...her ego will draw her back and the republicans will cringe. No fancy Duke education or powerful blue bood family for this chick. Just her big dumb mouth & greed will fuel her.

Maybe she has learned the lesson --- "It's better to shut up and have people think you ignorant than to speak and prove your stupidity "

Not to mention, completely unconcerned about how *much* she doesn't know. That's the most frightening part.
