CPAC: Sarah Palin Pulls Out

I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Via Think Progress comes the news that this years Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) will not feature an appearance from vice presidential candidate and would-be Republican Party standard-bearer Sarah Palin. CPAC officials have been told that Palin's whole being-the-governor-of-Alaska thing will preclude her attendance:

"We're obviously disappointed," said a CPAC official. A spokesman for the three-day confab, organized by the American Conservative Union Foundation and others, said that Palin, the popular former vice presidential nominee, had indicated she would be able to attend but cited "duties of governing" in bowing out.

Palin will send along a "taped message" for CPAC attendees to enjoy. Meanwhile, the responsibility of issuing vapid complaints about the media shall fall to every other CPAC attendee.

Palin being too busy being governor excuse was used to get her out of the GOP Retreat recently, only to have her caught going to the elite dinner with Obama and the power elite of DC. So CPAC shouldn’t buy it.

Excessive attention is a symptom of deep envy. You wish you hadn't aborted your child. You wish your husband still loved you. You wish you were in charge of something important. You wish you had the deep contentment this woman obviously has, for putting up with all of your baseless attacks. She has a million times more class than you could ever wish to have.

So enamored of your own? writing. Is this the 3rd or 4th cut-and-paste for you? You who without a scintilla of evidence charged a sitting Federal Judge with wishing the death of an unborn child as posted 02/06/09 at 15:08:33. Shame on you.

"She has a million times more class than you could ever wish to have."

Well, yeah.... She does, in a Dogpatch kinda way.

Too bad that class is remedial....

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:30 PM on 02/13/2009

I notice Palin defenders always mention that she has class.

A class act does charge women for r ape exams or s teal clothes from the party that advanced her career.

Michelle Obama has class. Cindy McCain has class. Class is something you earn. It can't be bought with an RNC credit card. Boo hoo. : (

That story was debunked long ago.

But......I think you really need to ask yourself why you so hate her.

I agree. But.......I also think she's just a woman. She's smart to pull out of attention. It's dangerous to her personally.

Saying anyone who doesn't like Sarah Palin has had an abortion, and/or has a loveless marriage, and/or has nothing of importance in their lives is not only totally classless, but hatefully ignorant.

Way to lead by example.

I absolutely can't stand Gov. Palin's views, but you're right about these comments. If someone said something like that about President Obama, all hell would've broken loose. Myself included.

Ms Palin is obviously a believer in the Peter Principle and is aware of the danger of appearing in an open forum where questions may be asked of her without prior vetting by her minders.
At least in that respect she is aware of her intellectual limitations and that her appeal is only amoungst the neanderthals within both the GOP and the greater American community.
As an Australian who has great respect and admiration for the American way of life and its political systems I have to point out that we here are amazed and also concerned for the future that some one who is so demonstratively unfit to occcupy even the basic level of government office has actually been elected as the Governer of a state of the union, let alone is seriously still being considered a potential for the Oval Office.
One hopes that eventually the novelty of this nincompoop will wear off and the focus can be on more pressing issues which face your country.

Ahh, actually Palin probably is perfect for independent-minded Alaska. She is a Big Oil favorite lady and a hands off administrator. She's actually perfect for those guys. Now, it's a big difference in the Lower 48. We're tired and beat up by the antics of the previous administration. America wanted someone with some near genius ideas to get us out of this economic jam while shooting in his rear view mirror at terrorists and doing the waltz while reciting the Constitution all at the same time. Sounds like a joke but it's that serious!

I would have to agree with your comment... but don't put to much trust in the American people. 15+ million voted George W. Bush in to office TWICE!!! Those who voted for him left the world wondering, WHAT THE H@#$ ARE THEY DOING!!! He was far. far, far from being qualified to run this country. You see what he did for his beloved country and American people...

Looks like Sarah's finally doing what the people of Alaska wants her to do...

STAY IN ALASKA AND WORK FOR THEM, NOT THE COUNTRY !

I say..... Koodos to Alaska !

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:34 PM on 02/11/2009

Is that really what the people of Alaska want?

Well it's a step in the right direction. Wonder where she'll show up instead...or maybe she's actually getting the message.

Naaaaa.....won't happen until she stops getting invited to anything and everything.

Maybe she should have thought about pulling out earlier.

Why did Sarah need a $150,000 in fancy clothes and require a hair and make-up stylist that charged several thousand a week when it clearly says in 1Timothy 2:9 that women should "adorn themselves in modest apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or COSTLY CLOTHING." Inquiring minds want to know. Speaking of inquiring minds why was it good journalism when the National Inquirer caught John Edwards committing a d u l t e r y and t r a s h tabloid-ism when they report Palin was guilty of the same?

To your first point: Because none of these people are actual practicing Christianity as Christ would. They are practicing an adulterated version of it based in greed, decpetion and personal gain. Also known as worshiping money= root of all evil (according to the theology).

To your secoond point: why even bother?

The repubs are famous for not criticizing their own. Reagan's 11th commandment was "Thou shall not speak i l l of any fellow republican." It really is almost sacred with them. So, you have to laugh when her fellow REPUBS! call her a W H A C K J O B, a L I A R, and D I V A, when prominent conservatives such as George Will, Frum, Kathleen Parker, Chuck Hagel admit that she is a l i g htweight and that McCain shouldn't have picked her? It's like being k i c k e d out of the Association of Used Car Salesmen for not being e t h i c a l enough.

Of course, last time she declined to attend a Republican event because she was needed back home to govern, she was actually hobnobbing with the elites in Washington, including that "one". Let's see what's she's really doing when this CPAC meeting occurs. Of course, she is asking for federal funds to help out Alaska, so maybe she doesn't want to offend the owners of the cookie jar.
