I wish Sam Zell would tell us all why he bought the newspaper and burying it debt in order to do so. It obviously wasn't to build a better paper. I know many believe that newspapers are dinosaurs, but without them our RSS feeds would be empty. When I moved from Chicago to the Bay Area I discovered the LA Times. It was a wonderful paper, and it, too, has been gutted. Sam Zell is a big part of what is wrong these days with this country. Go in way over your head when buying something (for what reason in this case, I have no idea), and make other people pay the price. The journalists, the public, anybody but you, right, Sam?
