A day after Kadima leader Tzipi Livni and Netanyahu each declared victory in Tuesday's election, they both began a race against time to form a coalition on paper before President Shimon Peres started the process of appointing one of them to build a government next week.

ISRAEL WILL HAVE TO DO WITHOUT THE $3,000,000,000.00 yearly aide check !

Even if offered they should refuse it.

After 40 + years of supporting Israel we need a break from the CHILD SUPPORT!

Has anyone read Likud's Charter by the way? They don't even recognize the Palestinians. Outrageous and hypocritical how one side demands recognition of the other.

I hope the new Prime Minister shows both strength in dealing with likes of Hamas and willingness to negotiate with those who want peace.

ah LAThinker . . I think the only thing the israeli government wants to do . . . livni included is expand . . . and that means more death and suffering for the Palestinians . . . these guys are so rooted in their zionist ideology . . that they are as blind and bigotted as bush and cheney . . . israel was never a major player in the ancient world . . . they weren't like the Egyptians, the Babylonians, the Assyrians, etc, etc . . . they may have had a brief period of glory under David and Solomon . . but . . . even that is questionable . . . the Old Testament has helped them to create myth . . . it was supposed to be for religious use .. but it was also used for propaganda about themselves . . . Jewish rulers amended bits -- at various times . .there is hardly any hisitorical corrobaration for most of what the israeli ssay about themselves in ancient times . . . I am always surprised when a name cropts up of a real historical figure . . even Moses may not have been a real person . . . . . .

Well, it's not as if Palestinians are an actual ethnic group, like say the Kurds or the Basques.

Last I checked neither of the latter groups has a seat in the UN General Assembly.
