"Two Lovers" Premiere: Stone-Faced Joaquin And Gwyneth's Leather Shorts (PHOTOS)

Huffington Post   First Posted: 03/15/09 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 02:05 PM ET

"Two Lovers" had a New York premiere Wednesday night, hours after star Joaquin Phoenix filmed his utterly bizarre Letterman appearance.

Joining Phoenix at the movie were his costars Gwyneth Paltrow and Vinessa Shaw. Paltrow took a fashion risk in a gold top, black jacket, black shorts, tights and gray ankle boots.

Whoever has been dressing Gwyneth needs to be fired. Man, the latest stuff she has been wearing looks like re-cycled hand me downs from cheap street walkers. UUGGHH!!

Gwyneth is the wife and lady-love of one of the hottest rock n roll stars in the world right now... She doesn't drink excessively or do dru gs, so cut her some slack and let her dress however she likes.... But I would wager that neither her leather shorts or boots were "cheap".....

We don't even know Joaquin Phoenix. Why attack him?
Good for him for not talking to David Letterman - a self-important windbag who is not very funny.
And don't ask me about Gywneth; it's painful to write her name...

then stay home, joaquin - you were booked on a show broadcast to millions. contractual obligations or not, stay the h e c k home if you want to pay "tortured artistic hip hopper." and it will only become a "mockumentary" when his hip hop "career" falls flat on its face and he goes back to acting to make more millions he lost while playing a hip hopper.

btw, it was letterman's show, an entertainment/comedy talk show - not dr. phil.

Boo hoo.... He didn't dance like a monkey on the Letterman show for your amusement...

But I would still rather see anything that Joaquin acts in than anything that most of those dancing monkeys try to pull off.... Since when are actors required to amuse you in order to promote their movie... I say with the amount of press he is getting, the movie is promoted. He did his job.

Pretty pathetic outfit on Gwyneth. Or are people going to say that it looks fabulous just because she's wearing it? Sometimes the emperor's new clothes really are nothing but stupid.

Are mom-jeans-waistlines back in style? Gwyneth? Hello? How unflattering...

Joaquin's a good actor. I wouldn't want him as a dinner guest.

I would... I have a feeling that there is more up there than most actors and actresses in Hollywood... It's the rest of Tinsel Town I wouldn't want over for dinner...

Word has it that he's filming a mockumentary about a star gone over the edge and that Letterman's in on it.

He's actually a good actor.. for example: the gladiator... he did a hell of a job on that movie. He's actually really good. But his life is a lil disturbe, to say the least. I think after his brother died, umm.. what was his name, he died young RIVER PHOENIX? is it? dont remember. But after his death, i think he's been different.

"Walk the Line" made me into a Johnny Cash fan... That proves that Joaquin can work miracles when he gets in front of the camera....

Because he is an Oscar Nominated actor who has several brilliant performances under his belt.

What was the problem on the Letterman Show? There certainly was a problem. He wasn't comfortable, not one second.

What was with the British Accent, then? Was he perhaps channeling Amy Winehouse as well? I think it was at least partially an act...
