Feinstein Reveals Intel That May Embarrass Pakistan

A senior U.S. lawmaker said Thursday that unmanned CIA Predator aircraft operating in Pakistan are flown from an air base in that country, a revelation likely to embarrass the Pakistani government and complicate its counter-terrorism collaboration with the United States.

I for one am glad Senator Feinstein said what she did. Firstly, it shows the terrorists that we can strike tham at anytime and at anywhere. Second, the governent of Pakistan may actually be forced to openly support the American cause and therefore possibly allow us to perform more indepth special operations type strikes in an effort to kill the cockroaches with the proverbial can of Raid. Third, this public revelation may actually turn in our favor by reducing the moral of the Taliban fighters and others in the region. I mean c'mon where are they actually gonna go? If you think about it we actually have them surrounded! It's just a matter of time before the noose tightens around the necks of those killers and thugs. Don't think for a second that flying predator drones are the ONLY operations that we have going on there. This is 2009 not 1969 where we have only WWII technology at our disposal.

Wasn't it Diane Feinstein who initially opposed Leon Panetta being nominated as head of the CIA because Obama DIDN'T consult her and because Panetta didn't have CIA experience?

As the chairwoman of the Senate Select Committe on Intelligence she should know better than to reveal intelligence information like that to the public, and further proves that it is SHE, who may NOT have the experience to be chairwoman of that committee.

Other countries may now be reluctant to provide undisclosed bases from which the USA can operate, in order to carry out its various missions, for fear that someone like Feinstein would publically disclose the "secret" information.

Feinstein's EGO is what led to the "I'm against Panetta just because Obama DID NOT CONSULT ME", and it is the same EGO which has her motor-mouth in overdrive.

This is obviously not really highly classified information, first of all.
Second of all, I'm appalled but not surprised! WHY? We haven't even BEGUN to re-wire the Bush administration's foreign policy. The Predator deal was made with the FORMER head of the government there--Musharref. HE was a military man. A LOT of our $$$ went to keep him in power and to 'develop' his army. HE is not in power any more (thankfully so). HOWEVER, as is the case with MOST, if not ALL, MILITARY minded people (generals, etc.) the MILITARY TENDS TO concieve of itself as a SEPARATE entity from the population. In other words, W. didn't 'bother' to talk to the NEW government of Pakistan about those pesky little Predators and how and when to use them. Soooo--it was THEIR call. Apparently a lot of our $$ was wasted, since these Predators are flyihg around willy-nilly and doing a LOT of damage to innocent folk--or seemingly innocent folk.
