I Like ItI Don’t Like It

SÃO PAULO, Brazil -- The trappings of upper-class teenage life seemed to come easily to Sander Mecca: girlfriends, rock bands, entry to stylish clubs and a serious Ecstasy habit. Weekend-long raves were not the same without it for Mr. Mecca, who said he sometimes consumed six pills in a span of 12 hours.

Prohibition is far more damaging than the drugs.

It is amazing how the HP libnuts hate Brazil. In last year the south-american country discover the largest oil and gas reserves in the world. Brazil has a positive export-import indice.Nowadays you wait 40 days for a new car because the strong demand. The brazilian banks works without problems. But the libnuts love bad news about the country . The next step wil be the protecionism cause Brazil is the leader in alternative energies. Its a shame

Is Personal Security still the largest industry in Brazil .

Murder, kidnappings and robbery are still huge problems and people still like to get home alive.

Ok, you are obviously a Brazilian with hurt feelings. It's ok, I'm Brazilian too. You can't deny that Brazil is a cesspool of violence, drugs and corruption no matter how much oil and gas we discover. Get over it, this story is actually old news, ecstasy has been huge in Brazil since at least 1996.

Drugs is such a big crisis around the world. How do one rid their country of this habit? It's supposed to be illegal, but yet so EASILY obtained. One may ask, is the government doing enough to get control of this problem?

I would argue that government intervention has exacerbated the problem.
Who would seriously argue that the only real cure for cancer is killing the patient.
We have tried prohibition for 40+ years and the only thing that we have accomplished is overcrowding our prisons with non-violent offenders and making many many criminals rich.
The propaganda and misinformation poured upon the American people by the Law Enforcement community and the DEA is beyond the pale.
For example if you visit the DEA's website they make a series of statements regarding medical marijuana. There is not a single truth in the lot. They come close to the truth by manipulating the meaning and quality of data but it is by design meant to mislead the public. It is no accident, these are intelligent people engaging in deliberate propaganda against the public.

That said there are certainly some drugs that cause a myriad of problems ranging from addiction to liver failure, however until we start to get honest about what the real risks are we will continue our quest to kill ants with a sledge hammer.

More drug war hyperbole.
I did not read of death and lives wasted so much because of the drugs as because of law enforcement.

I am not at all trying to defend X but the fact of the matter is that most of the documentation I have found suggests that (again) prohibition causes more damage than the drug. It the case of X; adulterants and fake X cause most of the health related issues surrounding the drug.

Dance Safe www.dancesafe.org performs pill testing and screening on X sold at raves here in the United States and has found that adulterants are causing the majority of medical emergencies see: http://www.dancesafe.org/documents/druginfo/pilltesting.php

Again I am not trying to promote X nor do I make any claims to the safety of the drug (I have never tried it) but until we reform the way in which government treats drugs and drug related data I will not trust anything they say. They have no credibility. By repeating the propaganda of the drug war, the main stream media loses their credibility as well.
