Obama's Sunday: Basketball At University Of Chicago, Haircut In Hyde Park

CHICAGO — President Barack Obama dropped by the University of Chicago campus Sunday for two hours of basketball with friends.

Obama, who's spending a long weekend in his hometown, headed out Sunday to indoor basketball courts where he has played before. Aides did not say who played hoops with the president.

After the game, Obama stopped at his barber's apartment for a quick haircut.

Obama and his family plan to return to Washington on Monday.

Over five hundred people lost their jobs at the U. of C. hospital last week. I doubt that many of them were superfluous. The problem is that the hospital spent every penny of every gift buying land and building up, not putting any of it away. Now that the endowments are down because of the economy and there are no reserves, the hospital is stripping away jobs. If Michelle had been in charge of those wasteful expansion programs, this would be a highly relevant comment. Since she was in community relations, I would say her position is needed more now than ever...

Republicans had 3 weeks to" read stimulus" and never read it with all their aids they have. Never read it Republicans are saying now ----had 3 weeks and just voted NO NO NO HOW MANY TIMES? Republicans only had to read 10% of final last changes.
If Republicans had been working on the stimulus instead for 3 weeks , instead of campaigning for 2012 . It would of only taken repulbicans an hour read!

No, no. I am a white, older lady who just adores our President. I voted for him in our NJ primary and have had an Obama08 bumper sticker since Jan 08. I also raised money for him and sent more that $1,000 of my own money to his election campaign. Many, many of us Caucasians are strong Obama supporters. I lost my beloved Bobby Kennedy when he was assassinated in the 60s and have not had as much respect for anyone since then till our President Obama. This is hilarious. Barack's stimulus legislation, which was allegedly so nail-bitingly urgent that Congress voted on it Friday night WITHOUT READING IT, so urgent that Congress broke its promise to have the bill posted online for 48 hours before voting so as to let the American people read it -- that selfsame piece of earth-shatteringly urgent legislation will now be sitting on Barack's desk until Tuesday so he and Michelle can take a three day holiday. Apparently the man is so arrogant he doesn't even care what any of this looks like to the public.

Any person in Congress that voted on that bill without reading it has NO excuse. Its been written for two weeks. They had plenty of opportunity. The only things added were changes and amendments, so the argument doesn't hold water...any more than it did when they used the same excuses for not reading the war resolutions or the Patriot Act.

The moaning and groaning, whining and complaining and all the crocodile tears in the world doesn't change the fact that the bill passed.

Changes and amendments are insignificant? A lot of posters on liberal blogs are saying the amendments were significant enough to neuter the bill, and I don't doubt that if the stimulus fails you'll be right here on HuffPo posting about the evil amendments that sabotaged Barack's glorious stimulus bill. And in any event, if Barack had no intention of signing the thing until Tuesday, what harm would there have been in letting the senators have the weekend to read the text of the bill that they were voting on? Not to mention letting the AMERICAN PEOPLE have 48 hours to read it, as Congress promised.

Tell me, please, what harm would it have done?

He's got to learn that Hyde Park is a highly residential area and not do stuff like that. If there isn't a court in the White House, it should be easy enough to put in.

It's none of your business if he went to church or not. It's not anyone's business. Attendance at church and religious observance is and should be a private matter. No matter who the person is. And what does going to church have to do with anything? President Obama has been working his butt off since before he was inaugurated -- unlike a lot of Congressmen I could name who leave DC at the drop of a hat. He comes from Chicago. And since this was a long weekend, he and his family, like many Americans decided to take a long weekend. How is that being a fraud?
