The biggest reason states vote against allowing gay marriage is loss of revenue. They can say it's a moral issue all they want, but lets face it...if gay people marry then that significantly decreases the number of people filing individual tax returns instead of joint. We all know that individuals are taxes at a higher rate than joint filers, simply due to the lack of deductions.
Is aruguing over a translation of a book from another language really the best use of our time? I mean we have allot of problems that we need to be addressing like environment change,the economy,stuff that effects every last person. Let's save the whole Leviticus BS for after we've saved the planet and made sure life can continue.

Unfortunately the same Bible that says gay marriage is wrong is also very set against capitalism, so using economics-based arguments to legalize gay marriage aren't going to fly with the fundies.
Where does it say in the bible "gay-marriage" please provide passage.. I don't even think the word gay is in the bible.. Just like Bush... trying to rewrite history...

Shrug- if you feel condescended to when someone offers their experienced opinion to you, that may say more about YOU and how YOU feel than about them. Personally, I don't care if she is gay or not. She is right that all American citizens who pay taxes deserve a right to have the benefits of marriage with the partner of their choice.

I'm so glad she mentioned Amendment 2 in Florida... It's kind of been swept under the rug in the midst of Prop 8.

My Valentine's Day wish is that ALL holy homophobics SOON have the ability to break free from their biblically brainwashed bondage, and accept people the way their "God" made them.
The Haggard, Larry Craig christian couples "choose" to HIDE in a marriage of convenience & concealment, to silence suspicions and satisfy sanctimonious sexual sensitivities. WHEN gay marriages are legal, THEY will need to be protected from THOSE "sanctified marriages"!
The GLBT Community should not be forced to "choose" either DISCRIMINATION (out of the closet) or DISHONESTY (in the closet).

I think it's great that Suze Orman is speaking out on this issue. Everyone who believes in equality needs to speak out against Prop 8 and Prop 2.
I love Suze Orman because she sums up each issue in dollars and good sense. Pun intended.
