He may be the Second Coming to many San Franciscans - but one local Catholic priest wants a popular prayer candle with President Obama's picture on it pulled from a local gift shop, saying it "mocks Jesus" and "depicts our beloved saints in a not so saintly way."

i agree this should be taken down. this just feeds into bill oreilly and the right wing talk show host to complain more with that fictitious statement obout obama being the messiah . something the right wing made up.
Maybe Rev. Tony La Torre should take a page from Jesus and physically throw the money changers out of the Temple.
They're not in a temple, they're in a store in the United States of America. That gives them some protection under the Constitution to say what they want without fear of church retaliation and domination.

Next, I suppose, you'll want some committee to approve jokes, scripts and music, too. Don't like the candle, don't buy one. I don't believe in ghosts or magic but I am not asking for restrictions on those who do, though I would like to see them treated like any other business, i.e. no tax exemptions. It is the churches that are out of control seking to dominate the political sphere.

Who cares what a bunch of child mol esters have to say. Nor does he or anyone here tell others who they can have on a candle. I'm sure most are buying them as gag gifts, but so what. If I want to see Obama as a Saint, what are you going to do about it? Not a da mn thing, but sit at the computer and cry about it. You don't decide for us who our Saints are, you don't control anything anymore, we will do whatever we want.

This is ridiculous. While we might admire him enormously, elevating him to saint is just asking for mockery.
Blind faith in anything or anyone is just foolish.
