Considering Palin's adamant Pro-Life stance it is interesting that she hid her pregnancy and relates it to the Downs Syndrome diagnosis. It is also a bit puzzling why a woman who would never consider an abortion would bother with amnio. Sarah Palin is out for herself first and foremost.
Her hypocrisy has been exposed again and again, for example the abuse of power and ethical violations found by a Bipartisan group in Alaska.
Her true character was apparent with her hateful race-baiting and fear tactics during the campaign not to mention her divisiveness and prfound ignorance.
The irony is that many Alaskans see through the Palin facade.

From personal experience even a pro-lifer at 43 is recommended to get an amnio! I ask my doctor this exact question ' why bother unless you were going to terminated your pregnancy if your baby has a problem. Answer - even if you would not terminate your pregnancy it allows you and your spouse to prepare yourself.

It doesn't make sense. She believes every life is valid. So why would she cover-up her pregnancy. No one would know about the amnio. And if asked wouldn't she have strength from her God to respond?? Or does she just save Him for her political career ?? And how long did it take her to examine her strengths before she knew she could handle this complication??? And was this an accidental pregnancy that she could have avoided with contraception??? Did she know the risk of mongolism in babies conceived at her age? I doubt Sarah Palin understands the meaning of proactive given the fact that the Palin women are making their lives into a daycare center.

Palin wonders why the media "picks" on her. If you want to be taken seriously you have to be serious and logical....Palin doesn't connect these together very often She is her own proof of what she is. There's nobody telling her what thoughts or beliefs to have. Too bad if she just doesn't know any better than what she knows.

How exactly is Bristol stepping up to the responsibilities of motherhood? She is unemployed. She is a high-school drop-out. She might, one day, manage to take on her responsibilities. But right now, she's an indigent teenager with a baby that her family has to budget in. Levi, meanwhile, lost his job when Palin focussed attention on his situation. And he, also, is a teenage high-school drop-out. So he isn't stepping up, either, and his family is currently dealing with attorney fees for his mother's legal woes.

You'll no doubt claim that they're trying, and should be given the benefit of the doubt, and in the future -- yeah, yeah. But now, right now, they are the epitome of right-wing Xian social and educative failure. And it took a village of determined ignorants to get them to this point.

That was the basic disconnect. Palin *concealed* her pregnancy. What woman does that? What political woman wouldn't understand that such an action calls her mentality, culpability and ethics into question? I know we've sledded past this point, but that doesn't render it inadmissable when reading her character. She somehow covered up a fifth, full-term pregnancy from family, employees, collegues and constitutents. Never mind the how, however improbable it seems... why? Again and again -- why?

It was not the action of a rational adult. There are elements of psychosis in such an action.

I think Sarah was ill-advised to travel across country after her water broke in her 8th month of pregnancy. The fetus was at risk of developing neonatal sepsis. And the little attention this has received signifies that no risk was involved.
As far as the baby not being hers, I find that hard to believe. She disguised her pregnancy. No one can tell from her pictures if she is pregnant. Perhaps that one that surfaced. I'm sure lots of women look that good in their 7th and 8th month.

Calling the Texas trip "ill-advised" is really kind. Let's face it -- there's a list of oddities surrounding the birth of this fifth child.

Any woman age 43 who has "unprotected sex" is risking a Downs syndrome child. Sensible women use birth control.

Any woman who travels from Texas to Alaska after her water breaks is either stupid or hoping the child will die. A careful woman wouldn't risk the trip, but if she had made that error, would go to a nearby hospital.

Any woman who tells the hokey stories Palin has about her pregnancy deserves the doubts she raises. Why would she keep it a secret so many months? It's not normal. And it's not responsible to her constituents.

Any woman who, having had a child who will require adult supervision all his life, cheerfully says to the media -- "he's beautiful . . . what's normal, anyway?" [not an exact quote but close ] -- sounds juvenile and insincere.

Never mind about anything else -- don't we see a pattern of risky disregard for normal safety and a blithe indifference to consequences that make Palin a poor choice for even governor, let alone senator or higher?

The baby was where he should have been in the arms of Mom and Dad and family as much as possible! The whole inability and exploiting comment is garbage but something libs like to shout about.

But here's some reality, 59% of 18 year old females have had sex and she become pregnant like 750,000 other teenage a year! I do not feel sorry for the publicity that Sarah or Bristol Palin have received as a result of Bristol's pregnancy. Sarah took the VP nomination KNOWING that Bristol was pregnant and very well aware that she would receive a lot of publicity. If she really cared about family values, she would have politely turned down the VP offer for the sake of her daughter. Right or not, the pregancy is going to bring negative publicity. I say that not because Palin is a woman -- I would have said the same thing about a man in the same circumstances.
