I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Ever thought your baby wasn't pulling enough weight around the house? No? Damn, cause this would've been perfect for you. "The Baby Mop" attaches fringes to the front of baby's clothing in order to make them clean as they crawl. The print ad explains:

"There's no child exploitation involved. The kid is doing what he does best anyway, crawling. But with Baby Mop he's also learning responsibility and a healthy work ethic."

Unfortunately for any of you out there thinking "this is fabulous, I must have one!" you can't as there is no purchasing information because this is in all likelihood a very funny joke. It's been around since 2008, and was even featured on the Ellen show, but it's just too ridiculous to be real.

Here's a brand-spanking new commercial for the Baby Mop from Chris Milk.

It's worth a try if you & your mortgage are underwater.

Why is this a joke? Sounds like a great idea for me.

Actually, me, too. I think I'll propose it to my Japanese friend's company (seriously).

I used to joke about doing that with my friends. Since I don't enjoy dusting and cleaning in general, I've always said why not put little buffers on the baby's knees, bottom and hands that way the baby can play and exercise and buff my floors at the same time. It has the added benefit of exposing the baby to dust and such so that he'll grow up with less allergies (studies have shown that exposure to pets and more dirt while young has this impact--although I'd probably just let them play in the dirt).

Don't his hands get dirty?

Why not hang him on the wall as an air freshener?
Whatev,
As long as they don't put a USB drive on his Binkie.

Oh sure collect a bunch of dust, so the baby can breath it all in.
