Vicki Iseman Drops Lawsuit Against New York Times Over McCain Ethics Story

Vicki Iseman has dropped her $27 million lawsuit against the New York Times, according to a staff memo obtained by Politico.

When the story came out about her suing I laughed. I said then that she was just putting up a front and that she would drop the suit.

She had to file a suit to make it look like the story was a lie during the campaign..­..now that the campaign is over, thankfully, she dropped a suit she knew she couldn't win.

Oh, please. The mistress "mini-scandal" was the same political ploy used by George HW Bush to imply a sexual potency the candidate lacked due to age. Surfaced about the same timeframe in the campaigns. The public was sort of duped - nothing like the Edwards and Hart sexual scandals which were real.

It appears they reached a MUTUAL agreement, in which the NYT admits it had no basis for its story and that it doesn't even necessarily believe its own story. That would be the way I would interpret this.
