Santelli

CNBC's Rick Santelli isn't just fighting with regular Americans. Now he's getting into scuffs with his fellow reporters.

In an interview Friday with MSNBC anchors Contessa Brewer and Carlos Watson, Santelli called Brewer "rude" when she asked whether a trader who sits near him was "suddenly famous."

"The guy that is sitting right beside you that you keep bringing in... Is he all of a sudden famous in his own right?"

"I just used him as an analogy, okay," replied Santelli.

"You keep bringing him in, the poor guy, is he good with this? Is he going to have his own YouTube channel?"

Finally, when the trader, whose name is "Eric" came to see about the commotion, Santelli said:

"They are being a little rude to you," Adding that Brewer wanted to know "if it somehow makes you feel better that your on here. That people are putting words in your mouth."

Took Santelli's advice and created an online vote about Santelli and his comments about homeowners getting bailouts and financial advice from CNBC. You can take the poll at http://www.pollpub.com/is-rick-santelli-a-callous-jerk-for-his-comments-about-homeowners-getting-bailouts.aspx

Hey Rick, are you listening?

Hey, did anyone notice if there are any people of color or women sitting behind Rick when he goes on his little rants? I hope he is forced out of CNBC so he can put himself in the shoes of the folks who have fallen on hard times at no fault of their own...I bet he wouldn't be singing that same ol tune then!

The millions of americans who have lost their jobs are not losers, they are americans and deserve respect from Mr. Santelli since if it were not for them he probably would not have his job!

CNBC is going to be laying off and Santelli wants to secure his place. With all this attention he's getting if he's laid off he can say "Management got rid of me because I spoke my mind". Rather than, "I suck as a reporter because i'm a former derivatives trader who rode the gravy train as long as I could in an unregulated industry".

None of these "PIN HEADS" get it...the jig is up! The American people have been bambozzled, exploited and been taken complete advantage of...I know we have all heard that money is the root of all evil so who do you think the evil overlords of our money have been? The evil greedy bankers - they just can't bring themselves to believe that Wall St. is no longer the center of the universe!

I want everyone to remember that we live in a capitalist system whose root purpose is to exploit the many for the benefit of the few...just take a look at this country's history dating back to its inception - one thing has been constant and that is exploitation of the masses of the poor and down trodden to benefit the wealthy and greedy few. Why can't people understand this very simple concept??

Historically, those few have been of the white-male-anglo-saxon persuasion who have fought like hell throughout history to maintain their power base by excluding and limiting all those who did not meet these characteristics. Just like in the wild, only the strong and powerful survive and prosper! Maybe we all need to take a lesson from this school of thought?

It seems like people are getting caught up in the messenger instead of just listening to the message. The idea that these banks should have to face the consequences of their actions is something I agree with. If banks don't refinace these bad mortgages to prices that people can actually afford they are going to get hurt in the long run. Banks are going to end up owning a bunch of depreciated assets that they are gonna have to sell for a loss anyway.
I think Obama's plan is smart because it is going to help mitigate the effects of this inevitable correction, however when Santelli says that the market need to correct itself; I agree with him.

The market "corrected" itself -- which is why the economy is in the mess it is.

Wake up: there has never been and is not now a "free market". The market has always been regulated -- either by gov't for the benefit of all, or by the private, minority corporate sector for the benefit of the private, minority corporate sector.

Every freedom is inextricably entwined with a responsibility. That includes the economy. It needs to be regulated for the benefit of all -- instead of bailing out th3e mega-wealthy with tax dollars so they needn't use their wealth to bail themselves out.

Santelli is preaching the very nonsense that screwed the economy. He doesn't have anything sane, or even constructive, to offer.

All she did was ask a question several times in effort to get a straight answer. Then Santelli made up something that didn't happen.

Haha looks like the Wall Street casino has been revealed as to what is really is.

Noone has a solution because the whole thing was set up to fail to begin with.

The markets are not fair, not regulated or to be trusted.

Haven't we all learned this by now?

LORD KNOWS I,AGREE WITH YOU LOBOFAN22,only selfish, greedy and ignorant people
would listen and agree.
How do I know because a SELFISH person would not have empaty for a person hurting.
Second, only Greedy people who have lost only a few dollars but not job and home would
not understand the hardship others are going through.
Finally,If these people are not helped, not only will they lose their homes and require GOVT.
assistance but price of the haves homes will decline.
I'm so glad my grandparents taught me ;"TO PUT YOUR MIND IN ACTION,BEFORE YOU
PUT YOUR MOUTH IN MOTION.
THINK SANTALII,IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO THINK WITH.

I keep hearing this: "This crisis happened because people bought houses they could not afford."

WHO GAVE THEM THE LOAN TO BUY THE HOUSE??? Oh, yeah those financial geniuses at the bank. The banks gave those loans. Who does the bank employ? People who are trained in finance. They gave out loans to people who could not afford them once the rates spiked. Who do you expect to be better trained to make financial decisions? A bank representative or a factory worker, or a hair stylist, or an interior designer, or construction worker? I'm going to say the bank representative. To help explain my point let me create an analogy:

A man named Joe the Average Home Owner, who loves hamburgers, has a heart condition and goes to see Dr. Banker. Dr. Banker says Joe needs a heart transplant. Joe says, "OK, doc. I trust you. You're a highly trained doctor." Dr. Banker performs the transplant, but Joe dies. Turns out Dr. Banker put a spleen in where Joe's heart should have been. Dr. Banker then says, "Well, this never would have happened if he didn't eat those hamburgers!"

Who is more at fault?

You are just plain wrong about the bank representatives. Not all these bad loans were made by banks. The really bad ones were made by mortgage companies and as seen on CNBC "House of Cards" some of these reps were nothing but former pizza deliverers. The borrowers got no expert help. Salesmen sold mortgages, That is not to say banks were not involved at all but the country's underwriting standards collapsed in the early 2000 and new kinds of mortgages that allowed buyers to pay LESS LESS LESS than the interest were common so they could afford the loans. Dumbness prevailed on both sides of the equation.

NO IT DOESN'T STUPID.IF YOU GO TO THE STORE TO PURCHASE A LOAF OF BREAD
AND A GAL OF MILK,IF THE TOTAL IS $10.00 AND ALL YOU HAVE IS $8.00 DO
YOU THINK THE CLERK,MANAGER,OR OWNER IS GOING TO LOWER THE PRICE ON ONE OR THE OTHER IN ORDER FOR YOU TO BUY.NO,I DIDN'T THINK SO.
SO,THINK,THE BANKS ARE IN THE BUSINESS OF MAKING MONEY,JUST AS THE
STORE OWNER,BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS HE KEEPS HIS PRICE OF BREAD AND
MILK THE SAME FOR ALL.THE BANK SCHEMES ON THE POOR TO HELP THE RICH.
I HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR NONE OF THESE CROOKS.EVERYONE SHOULD WALK
AWAY FROM THESE HOUSES AND LET THE CHIPS FALL OUT THE RICH BANK
ACCOUNTS
