CNBC Proudly Replays Rick Santelli's Rant

Once upon a time, cable channels were embarrassed by on-air outbursts or other anchor antics. Now, some are glad to post the video clips on the Internet as quickly as possible to maximize publicity and Web traffic.

On Thursday, CNBC swiftly uploaded a televised rant by Rick Santelli about President Obama's plans to address the housing crisis. By doing so, the network injected the reporter's opinions publicly, and the widely replayed video clip even provoked a response from the White House the next day.

I will be paying more taxes in a few years. If you happen to benefit from one penny of my extra tax I want you to know that I will be so happy about that. I hope that it gives you a few minutes less worry or outright fear. i hope if you have children you will get enough from all of us to get a great new start. There are millions of people out there who feel that we are all in this together. We are proud of Democracy and America and we delight in our ability to come together in a tough situation and make things a little better. I hope that it is enough. I hope that the people who are whining and complaining and saying mean, spiteful things will not make you feel bad. Ignore them. What is inside them is worse, believe it or not, than what you are going through. Even though they add to the pain of others you should feel pity for them. They have lost the ability to feel shame, maybe the ability to feel human. Be even kinder to your children because truly all that matters to them is that you love them.

Seriously....they proudly replayed it? It is not something to be proud of. It is shameful.

To act as if every person having difficulties with their mortage payments is a "loser" or trying to get something for nothing or "bought a house with an extra bathroom" is wrong on so many levels its ridiculous.

His original rant was disgusting. His encore was equally ridiculous. He clearly does not understand housing, mortgage, appraisals or foreclosures if he thinks people are in trouble because they bought a house they couldn't afford and now they expect their neighbors to bail them out. He's the expert? Seriously, that is nothing to be proud of.
