CPS Closures: Six Schools Spared, Will Be Kept Open

Six of 22 schools will be spared closure or shakeups, Chicago public school officials said Monday, just two days before a School Board vote on the issue.

The schools spared are Peabody, Yale, Hamilton, Holmes, Global Visions High and Las Casas High, said Monique Bond, a spokeswoman for new Schools CEO Ron Huberman.
