I Like ItI Don’t Like It

In an interview with the Washington Times, the Republican governor of Utah on Monday said his party's leaders in Congress' lack of new ideas renders them so "inconsequential" that he doesn't even bother to talk to them.

Watch:

"I don't even know the congressional leadership," Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. told the paper's editors and reporters. "I have not met them. I don't listen or read whatever it is they say because it is inconsequential -- completely." Huntsman added that he would not reject any money from President Obama's stimulus. While he criticized what he saw as misdirected spending in bill, he said Republicans had no credibility on fiscal responsibility.

"Our moral soapbox was completely taken away from us because of our behavior in the last few years," he said. "For us to now criticize analogous behavior is hypocrisy. We've got to come at it a different way. We've got to prove the point. It can't be as the Chinese would say, 'fei hua,' [or] empty words."

Huntsman recently made waves when a spokeman announced that the governor supported civil unions for gay couples. Utah has a constitutional ban on gay marriage and domestic unions.

In an interview with the Washington Times, the Republican governor of Utah on Monday said his party's leaders in Congress' lack of new ideas renders them so "inconsequential" that he doesn't even both...

Yes, I did enjoy that honesty but I am of the belief that what George Bush has done to this country and what those Repbulicans allowed and supported that we should not have a Republican elected to the office of President for like 50 years!

Now, I want to know why the Gop is putting up Bobby Jindal when they could have an intellegent human speaking tonight. I watched Huntsman the other day on CNN and I was impressed. Not rude, intellegent, artful, a great politician. You know, the guy could actually run if I what I saw and heard is the true Huntsman. Instead they pick Steale and Jindal? Give me a break.

The former 2 term Mayor of Salt Lake shows that there is a strong Liberal majority in the city.

I miss Rocky

Finally a Republican who can recognize and tell the truth. I am in shock!!

Funny! But I always knew they were out there. Only they are usually reclusive, like that woodpecker they found in a swamp a few years ago, the wp they believed extinct since about 1928.

Bravo Governor Huntsman! You make me proud to have been born in Utah. Though Utah has a reputation for being a rabid right wing community, there are always a handful of elected officials there that transcend the mindless, lock-step GOP'ers and show that they have not lost their powers of rational thought or compassion for all people. The GOP will definitely have you on their Black-list now. Watch your back, good luck and God bless you.

They've been inconsequential for more than 35 years

Well not exactly - we are currently living with the disastrous consequences of their actions over the last 35 years.

Inconsequential in terms of influencing our country in a good and positive way. But you're right. Thanks for the catch

AMEN, Gov. Huntsman. You've definitely called this one right.

Your party's Congressional delegates (House of Representatives and Senate), including those from Utah, have all proven themselves to be irrelevant and without any concept of what the American people want. These Republicans remain tone deaf to the will of the people as express through not only the election but also the current polls.

Therefore, they are, however, the Party that keeps on giving. They will ensure that the Democrats stay in power long enough to bring real change to this country. Change out from the abyss into which the Republicans brought us.

We have one Representative worth something -- Jim Matheson (a blue-dog Democrat). The rest are just empty baggage.
