Michelle Obama displayed her own 'flinty Chicago toughness' on Tuesday night as she braved the cold conditions of February, and looked stunning in a sleeveless Narciso Rodriguez dress at the President's address to Congress. The garment was particularly flattering to her well-toned arms.

The reason why white conservative men can't stand Michelle's bare arms is because they find it threatening. They are simultaneously attracted in a libidinous way, and repelled because it threatens their masculinity.

Well stated! The question is, why should we worry about what they think about anything? They have destroyed America's economy with their lies and spin. This economy is in a tailspin because of their "masters of the universe" attitudes and Congress going along with their free cash thievery. I enjoy everything Michelle Obama wears. Her sense of color is fabulous. I'm tired of First Lady red, First Lady Blue and other overused hues. But I'm dying to know how she can afford so many clothes. Is she accepting gifts or "loans" from designers? I wish the White House would tell us. If they want to make the argument that she accepts gifts and loans to promote American designers, let's have the information so we can consider the merits. I think she should have a limited wardrobe and wear things multiple times. But I'm not going to have a cow about it.

She can afford so many clothes because her husband has written two best sellers, and his past salaries as Illinois State Representative, then U S Senator, and now President are such that she can afford nice clothes. She was also employed in the past, so how she can afford clothes shouldn't be even be questioned. She's from Chicago where it gets really cold in the winter, so a little cold isn't that bad. Lots of winter dresses are sleeveless and heavier fabric., but usually have a jacket or sweater that go with them. These are not summer clothes.

O.k., for all the traditionalists on here who think this isn't the time of year to go sleeveless: what if there is a jacket that goes with it, but it was probably HOT in the room? What if she is starting to have a little bit of the pre-meno stuff going on (she is 45), and KNEW she would get hot? Just sayin'
