MSNBC Cuts To Jindal With An Audible "Oh God" (VIDEO)(POLL)

I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Update: Chris Matthews explains why he said "Oh, God"

In case you missed it, there was an unfortunate bit of barely-audible editorializing as MSNBC switched from their on-air discussion of the forthcoming rebuttal from Bobby Jindal to the rebuttal itself.

Listen closely as Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann leave off their discussion as Jindal comes into view of the camera. Someone with a live mike is overheard audibly expressing their disbelief with a sardonic, "Oh, God."

And honestly, it would be about fifteen whole seconds before that reaction was really appropriate.

[WATCH.]

Now take our poll - give us your best guess as to which MSNBC staffer uttered the infamous line:

Quick Poll

It's definitely Matthews... even in a whisper, you can hear the nasal Philly accent.

A media personality actually said the truth, on air?

Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal would make some interesting off-spring...

"Thanks but no thanks and please come again!"

I've been playing Fallout 3 every evening lately, and Bobby J.'s speech had the feel of the cheesy "retro-futuristic" ads and music in this game! I almost expected him to reassure us that we will defeat the Red Menace! LMAO

Haha, for sure. Fallout 3 is unmercifully critical of the good ol' boy perspective. Staunch conservatism + non disclosure government => Nuclear War.
It's an ideology that needs serious re-examination and re-affirmation. As it is, conservatism is a poison in our country. It could be something else, a healthy point of debate, a way of keeping the government in check when the administration decides to do things like throw away the constitution, or the Geneva conventions....but no, conservatives lost their way long ago and are often guilty of the very thing they criticize most: unchecked, forceful government. It's just that they conveniently label one action as "patriotic" and another as "gross liberal spending". This idea of Economic conservatism is so convenient - they are desperately grasping to hold on to some semblance of integrity : "look! we're trying to stop the liberals from spending too much money on our country!" Never mind the trillions spent on a conservative-driven war in Iraq, never mind the totalitarian perspective on every other aspect of life other than the economy, never mind the fact that conservative economic policies, "Laissez Faire economics", recently failed miserably. Worse than miserably. Disastrously. Tragically. Never mind the tragic "War on Drugs" spearheaded by conservatives which tears lives asunder and does nothing to fix the actual problem.
I, for one, want them out of office. Tried for treason. Hung.

Looks to me like little Bobby is playing house (white house). Chris Mathews, will you marry me?

I saw this live too, and thought Chris Mathews' comment was hilarious. I didn't realize that he didn't expect the audience to hear it.
We need this kind of honesty in the media. Remember Peggy Noonan calling McCain's choice if Palin as political bullshit? Ah, a breath of fresh air!

Thank you so much for this video. I saw the clip on the news, but being able to play it over and over and over has made a very rough Friday a very fun day. The "Oh my God" comment is funny in itself, but the light laughter after the comment is what gets me. I am still wiping tears from my eye from laughing so hard.

He was probably thinking: "He is such a cornball!" Because, honest to goodness, if anyone, even Obama, came out strolling like a before picture on an Old Spice commercial like Jindal just did, I would say "Oh God" too! LOL

I'm having a wonderful time reading all the comments about Jindal. You guys/gals are so funny!

When I saw/heard him talk, I thought I'd fallen down the rabbit hole again.. I'd been down there for eight years watching everything getting "curiouser and curiouser" during the Bush adm. I thought this country was back to sanity when Obama got elected. But, no, the repugs are still "at" it. I see the comparison to Mr. Rogers but might I add a that I saw the Mad Hatter, too.?

Frankly, I thought Gov. Jindal was channeling Mr. Rogers. Americans can do anythinggggg.

Why are we so concerned about the hardly audible comment? Oh, that's right, what Gov. Bobby said was just more of the same old, same old.
Hey Mr. or Ms. Main Stream Press (and E-stram Press) perhaps you need to get the message that we need to get down to airing the real business of this country - talk about what really matters. Expose the games that one G-"Old"-P is playing that is delaying the work that needs to be done now. And help hold our elected officials accountable for the games both parties are playing.

Even I said "Oh, god" when he walked into the shot. It's official, the repube have gone retro.
